Position Overview

The Creative Services Senior Specialist, supports SCE’s business priorities and programs by developing visual communications and writing copy that help our audiences understand our business. Specifically, this position will be responsible for developing copy and graphic designs for print and digital, illustrations, and animations using Adobe Creative Cloud on both Mac and PC platforms. Working at the direction of the manager, the successful candidate will interface with internal clients, including senior leadership, mid-level managers and subject matter experts. The Senior Specialist position provides recommendations to key stakeholders to ensure that the intended messages are delivered appropriately to our audiences in a cost effective and efficient manner. He/she will also support the company’s media relations/business resiliency functions during emergency events such as windstorms, wildfires, or earthquakes that affect our customers.

Typical Responsibilities Include:

  • As part of a team of creative professionals, this position plans and produces copy and graphics to support SCE’s business objectives.

  • Meets with clients and subject matter experts and ascertains project scope, maintains awareness of client expectations regarding budget and time requirements, and keeps the client and workgroup aware of project status and/or change requests.

  • Develops messages that create a consistent voice for communications.

  • Helps coordinate production schedules, as well as post-production tasks such as archiving final products.

  • Trouble-shoots graphics issues with file formats, for example.


Minimum Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in a creative discipline such as Communications, Film, Fine Arts, Advertising or related field.

  • Five years of hands-on experience in Graphic Arts production in a team environment.

  • Three years writing copy for video production, advertising, or similar communications.

  • Five years of experience using the Adobe Creative Suite.

Desired Qualifications

  • Technical experience developing graphics, pre-press publication designs such as fact sheets and brochures, reports, etc., as well as infographic development and explanatory animations.

  • Proficient in Microsoft office.

  • Hands-on experience in Graphic Arts production in a team environment, in a corporate setting.


  • Candidates should be prepared to bring/showcase examples of work produced.

  • Additional writing assessment will be administered as part of the selection process.

  • Candidates for this position must be legally authorized to work directly as employees for any employer in the United States without visa sponsorship.

  • Occasional nights/weekends during extreme events i.e. wildfires, earthquakes etc.

  • Local travel may be required.
