Southern California Edison’s (SCE’s) Customer Service Organizational Unit (CS) shares the responsibility to safely deliver reliable, affordable electricity to our customers. Position overview:

The Engineering Services (ES) organization within SCE’s Customer Programs & Services (CP&S) manages technology assessment programs, provides technical support, analysis and quality control (QC) for SCE’s Demand Side Management (DSM) program portfolio and maintains the laboratory and testing environment. This position is in the Engineering Project Management (EPM) group within ES. EPM is engaged in technical reviews, project management, and cutting-edge work related to advancement of energy efficiency (EE) in California. This position will help manage and support energy efficiency projects within ES organization, including custom projects, LCR RFOs (Local capacity Requirements), ET (Emerging Technologies), EM&T (Emerging Market & Technology) and C&S (Codes & Standards) programs.

The individual selected in this role will ensure that the assigned projects and their plans are successfully managed and engage project stakeholders on a regular basis to determine progress and task/activity duration, provide updates, analyze impact, and communicate changes back to stakeholders. Key tasks for this position would include working with project managers, program managers, technical area leads and on-site partners. This technical specialist will assist the EPM team and ES organization in the assessment and implementation of EE-and DSM-focused solutions.

Typical Responsibilities:

  • Project management and support of energy efficiency and demand response projects, providing technical oversight to projects from LCR, Custom EE, ET/EM&T and C&S program areas

  • Perform assigned tasks in support of on-going activities related to projects in close coordination with EPM’s senior manager, including status updates, performance tracking, reporting and coordination of work with other project managers in EPM.

  • Other tasks related to project management, technical and quality control reviews and support to on-going initiatives will be required on an as-needed basis.


Minimum qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering (mechanical, electrical) or equivalent.

  • 5 years of engineering experience.

  • 2 years in the utility industry.

Desired qualifications:

  • FE (Fundamentals of Engineering).

  • Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering.

  • Experience working in energy efficiency programs.
