About Transmission and Distribution
Southern California Edison’s (SCE's) Transmission and Distribution Organizational Unit (T & D) is responsible for planning, engineering, constructing, operating, and maintaining transmission and distribution facilities throughout the 50,000-square-mile territory. T&D is the steward of roughly $19 billion in assets that safely and reliably deliver electricity to 14 million residents via SCE’s 5 million customer accounts.
The Project Analyst position provides centralized support to the Grid Contracts Management group. The Analyst will have responsibility for tasks associated with supporting a team of contract managers and will also be responsible for day-to-day business functions including analyzing multiple (potentially complex) data sets and composing recommendations based on findings, budgeting, forecasting and reporting financial data to facilitate cost management and decision making strategies, preparing monthly and quarterly reports, reconciling accounts payable and accounts receivable, assisting in efforts to resolve issues, and evaluating and developing new processes, procedures, and policies.
Typical Responsibilities :
Gathers, documents, analyzes, and draws conclusions on complex data and information after considering alternatives through research and analysis. Acts as a key resource to department management.
Prepares monthly and quarterly financial reports.
Supports internal and external auditors by coordinating and providing information requirements.
Investigates root causes of data discrepancies and makes recommendations on changes to reporting content and structure.
Facilitates meetings with other work group(s) to collect additional information needed to perform analysis.
Develops “as-is” and “to-be” process flows. Supports ad hoc process improvement efforts and partner with other work groups in analyzing existing processes and identifying potential process improvements.
Plans, creates, and delivers presentations to various levels of management.
Two or more years of experience working in an Analyst role.
Two or more years of experience with Microsoft Excel performing advanced functions such asVLOOKUP’s, pivot tables, filtering/sorting, charts and graphing.
Bachelor’s Degree in business, economics, finance or similar discipline.
Experience tracking, monitoring, and reconciling accounts, including technical expertise to extract data from various financial systems and experience with accurately interpreting this data.
Experience planning, organizing and coordinating tasks while maintaining high levels of accuracy and attention to detail and meeting assigned deadlines.
Experience in planning, organizing, and prioritizing multiple assignments concurrently.
Experience in collaborating with peers, clients, management and other organizations
Experience conducting analysis, creating spreadsheets and developing presentations.
Proficient with Microsoft Office Word, PowerPoint, and Access.
