Become a  Network Operations Sr. Specialist  at Southern California Edison (SCE) and build a better tomorrow.  In this job, you’ll play a critical role in supporting core SCE electrical services and business functions through infrastructure management and innovation delivery.  This includes networking, data center, and other OA&M (operational administration and maintenance) technologies.  You will be part of a team that ensures core functions are highly reliable, as well as helping to deliver new capabilities through integration and automation.  This group has high visibility to many functional areas like grid operations, data center operations, and grid engineering.  You will also support the central command center which is responsible for all real-time monitoring and restoration activities.  As a Network Operations Sr. Specialist, your work will help power our planet, reduce carbon emissions and create cleaner air for everyone. A day in the life - Get ready to think big, work smart and shine bright!

  • Support the operation of large, complex, grid & corporate data network projects.  Includes configuration, analysis, and restoration activities of network and operational infrastructure 

  • Preventative maintenance and support to ensure high availability.

  • Integration and automation activities for effective and efficient operational management.

  • Help establish new or update operating model processes with cross-organizational impacts.

  • Leverage various networking and DevOps tools for performance indicators and actionable business intelligence.

Qualifications

The essentials

  • 5 years of experience in Network Operations management including maintaining, configuring, and upgrading Networking devices (routers and switches), wireless or telecommunications infrastructure

  • 3 years of experience with administration and management of various network monitoring and management tools for configuration, performance, packet inspection, etc. such as (NetScout, Infoblox/Netmri, CA Technologies – including CA Spectrum, CA Performance Center, Netflow and ADA, Palo Alto Panorama, Firemon, or MegaSys-Telenium)

The preferred

  • Cisco or Nokia networking certification

  • Experience with API’s

  • Experience with data and analytics: kafka, NiFi, PowerBI, tableau, MySQL

  • Experience working closely with vendors to expedite and resolve operations issues in a network environment

You should know ...

  • Work Mode: Effective January 2022, this position’s work mode is hybrid . The employee will report to an SCE facility for a set number of days with the option to work remotely on the remaining days.  Unless otherwise noted, employees are required to reside in the state of California.  Further details of this work mode will be discussed at the interview stage.
