Position Overview

Manages an organization with diverse and/or specialized disciplines or functions which have a major operational or financial impact on the company. Impacts departments’ performance related to approved budgets, objectives, core business activities, quality of service, productivity, cost effectiveness and responsiveness to customers and outside agencies. Coordinates, directs and maintains contacts with third parties, customers, contractors, suppliers and vendors. Directs preparation of schedules, records and reports of work progress, future projects and evaluation of completed tasks. Provides recommendations and implements action plans to improve cost effectiveness. Identifies major systems, operations and business unit deficiencies with recommendations for improvement. Participates in departmental planning, provides budget recommendations, and frequently monitors performance for the accomplishment of committed results.

Position will be responsible for the supervision of all represented Crafts employees, including mechanics, electricians, carpenters, painters, and porters located at the General Office Complex. This position will be responsible for supervising the activities of the staff by providing direction and support, assessing and managing the workload and safety and performance of the employees, mentoring, and providing training and development to employees.

Critical Facilities responsibilities includes contract management of assigned managed services provider. Coordinates the allocation of financial resources, reviews day to day operations and policy with strategic planning. This position must have a solid overview of critical assets and the relative condition of the designated locations. The manager anticipates the respective needs of clients, facilities and corporate services, conduct root cause evaluations, support decision making processes, and provide comprehensive reports.

Typical responsibilities include:

  • Direct management of a team of represented employees, including the application of company personnel policies. Administration and implementation of safety tailboards, programs, processes, and safety culture change.

  • Creating, prioritizing, implementing and executing operations and maintenance work for 2.2 million square feet of general office and critical facilities.

  • Management of employee performance and development by conducting performance planning evaluations, coaching employees, and carrying out disciplinary action when necessary.

  • Critical Facilities responsibilities of this position provides overall division leadership, manage and allocate financial resources and balance day to day operations and policy with strategic planning.

  • Management of the outsourced service provider to ensure maximum General Office and Critical facility systems reliability.

  • Recommend and/or implement departmental processes/procedures and assist in the development of department processes/procedures. Establish and measure annual key performance indicators.


Minimum Requirements :

  • Bachelor Degree.

  • Five years of experience managing, supervising, or leading an organization, unit, or teams.

  • Five years of experience in the use and application of Facility Condition Index (FCI) and Asset Prioritization Index (API) programs.

Desired Qualifications

  • Experience interfacing, managing and collaborating with union representatives, colleagues, employees and all levels of management to develop solutions and ensure stakeholder buy-in.

  • Ability to gather information from a variety of sources and Stakeholders, analyze data, and compile findings into verbal and written communications that are meaningful and actionable to the target audience.

  • Ability to hold employees accountable for results.

  • Experience developing long term strategies and annual maintenance plans.

  • Experience completing multiple assignments simultaneously, and adjusting to changing priorities.

  • Experience managing maintenance operations in corporate critical mission facilities (i.e., data centers, call centers, and corporate headquarters).

  • Ability to read and understand basic electrical, mechanical and automation system from drawings.

  • Ability to work a flexible work schedule.

  • 5 years’ experience in management of critical infrastructure environment.

  • Thorough knowledge of departmental policies, objectives, strategies and goals as well as applicable laws and regulations pertinent to the performance of job responsibilities.

  • Excellent interpersonal and leadership skills to form and maintain effective project teams consisting of member of various organizational units, departments and/or organizations.

  • Must demonstrate effective team building.

  • Leed AP Credentials.
