Southern California Edison Financial Analyst in Rosemead, California
About Operational Finance:
SCE’s Operational Finance organization plays a critical role in in helping the company efficiently deploy capital, ensuring capital projects and programs meet corporate objectives and balance the interests of customers and investors.
You will report to our senior manager of Project Analytics and you will work closely with managers and advisors in Operational Finance to perform financial analyses and modeling in support of capital investments justification, strategic financial assessments, procurement activities, and other ad-hoc projects.
Detailed stuff you’ll be doing:
Develop financial models and use SCE’s revenue requirement model to perform financial analyses, including evaluating least-cost alternatives, cost/benefit analyses, lease versus buy decisions, and cost saving opportunities.
Gather assumptions, assist in planning, and provide analytical support for capital project evaluation, procurement decisions, and other corporate initiatives.
Work closely with managers and advisors within the department and with operating unit teams to understand costs and benefits of investment alternatives.
Identify and resolve issues, assisting in the development of least-cost or cost-benefit analysis as appropriate.
Support senior analysts, project managers, or managers in interacting with subject matter experts to drive analysis to support business cases.
Qualifications you need:
You have a bachelor’s degree
You have at least three years of experience in financial or quantitative analysis.
Other stuff that will set you up for success:
Advanced Excel skills
Ability to successfully navigate ambiguous or uncertain situations; self-starter and independent problem solver
Experience performing financial analyses, including cost/benefit analysis, Net Present Value (NPV) analysis, and assessing financial forecasts
Experience developing, validating, and presenting financial models, and ensuring the accuracy and integrity of findings and recommendations
Experience in the field of financial analysis, and analyzing and interpreting financial statements
Experience communicating financial information to various audiences, including senior management
Understanding of the utility business model and how various financial decisions affect customers and shareholders
Completion of Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) Program exam I or II or AFP FP&A Certification
