SCE Corporate Real Estate (CRE) manages 5 million square feet of real estate, occupancy for 13,000 employees, over 1300 buildings, with facilities spanning over a 50,000 square mile territory.
CRE performs an essential service function to Edison core business which requires considerable experience and management expertise to responsibly support our company workforce. There exists a critical business need for an experienced, qualified project management professional, within the Project Management and Construction (PMO) organization. The PMO is responsible for planning, design and delivery of capital facility construction projects, with an annual budget of $150M. Projects in the CRE portfolio encompass new construction and tenant improvements, critical facilities and infrastructure upgrades, office buildings, service centers and substations.
This position reports to the Principal Manager of the CRE PMO, and provides program-level project management leadership for departmental and enterprise-wide projects. Focus is on developing key concepts and ultimately implementing them into functional and operational reality.
Routinely manages project programming, planning and execution of facility construction projects. Serves as the primary integration point with strategic planning and facilities management, finance and CRE’s dedicated project and construction management service provider.
You will interface effectively with business partners and all levels of management to build and sustain relationships, develop/negotiate solutions and facilitate the integration of business processes across the organization.
Manages the development and implementation of capital construction projects within the specified program.
Provides leadership, oversight and direction to outsource vendor employees performing project management and field construction activities.
Facilitates project programming, business financial justification, vendor selection/management, design development and construction.
Ensures projects are completed in accordance with established policies, standards and regulatory guidelines.
Partners with strategic planning in the development of General Rate Case and Long Range Plan.
Evaluates and advises leadership on project scope, prioritization, risk, cost and schedule.
Tracks portfolio progress and presents project updates to clients and senior leadership.
Ten (10) or more years of specific and/or combined experience in project management, architecture, engineering and/or construction management.
Three (3) or more years of experience managing multiple concurrent projects or programs.
Ability to create and maintain a safety conscious work environment.
Bachelor’s degree or higher in relevant discipline (i.e. business, architecture, engineering, construction).
Project Management Professional (PMP) and/or other project management program certification.
Experience with building code, regulatory and permitting requirements, working knowledge of design, architecture and construction practices.
Experience managing a portfolio of high value construction projects.
Experience in acquisition, selection, contracting and management of vendors and contractors.
