In this job, you’ll support the SCE EE (Energy Efficiency) programs that help our customers save money and energy every day. SCE’s Engineering Review & Analysis (ERA) group is responsible for the development, maintenance and quality assurance of EE (Energy Efficiency) engineering data that are used to support SCE ‘s customer-facing EE Programs. The ERA group’s work is a significant part of getting new energy-saving technologies approved for use by SCE’s customers. A day in the life - Get ready to think big, work smart and shine bright!

  • Support key internal & external stakeholders for our SCE EE programs to create and provide ongoing updates to SCE workpapers. These workpapers are important tools that describe the engineering algorithms, methods & assumptions used to estimate the energy & demand savings that results from the customer’s installation of a technology measure (referred to as “Deemed measure savings”).

  • Support the ERA team’s efforts in working with the CPUC and internal stakeholders to manage work paper policies, improve workpaper quality, and streamline processes to support SCE’s performance reporting.

  • Support senior engineers in assessing, coordinating, and responding to more complex assignments, including regular CPUC dispositions requiring workpaper updates.

  • Support the rollout of a new measure database (called “eTRM”) and statewide workpaper development process.


The essentials

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering (mechanical, electrical, etc.) or equivalent scientific/technical/math degree

  • 3 to 5 years of engineering work experience

  • Ability to read and understand technical documents and reports

The preferred

  • FE (Fundamentals of Engineering) / EIT (Engineering in Training) designation

  • Master’s Degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering

  • Technical writing experience
