The job …

As Senior Scrum Master/Product Manager, you lead new product development and have overall project responsibility for product definition and delivery over multiple Scrum teams as part of SCE’s Digital Center of Excellence with the goal of disruptive innovation through design thinking and agile based methodologies, coupled with advanced technology platforms. You perform both as a Senior Product Manager and Sr. Scrum Master. You will be on-boarded quickly and figure out state of the team and lead them from the inception through deployment phases. Using Design Thinking methodologies, you will facilitate the product requirements gathering across the team, manage the functional aspects of the process and execute SCRUM practices to ensure successful delivery of all responsible projects. You will lead multidisciplinary teams through a lean, agile-based incubation and implementation process – e.g., Build, Learn, and Adapt. Daily activities of this role will encompass establishing of project/sprint goals, develop plans for scrum teams, managing multiple project teams to help drive the teams toward achieving their goals as a servant leader. You work daily with Product Owners, Developers, Program Managers, QA team, and IT partners.

Detailed stuff you will be doing...

  • Act as the voice of the customer in the definition of innovative digital solutions.

  • Work with strategic design to gain an understanding of user personas, challenges and journeys.

  • Responsible for product and project management utilizing Agile and Design Thinking Methodologies.

  • Capture and lead product feedback through surveys, concept testing, analytics tools, and A/B testing.

  • Understand key objectives and strategy of the product, and be able to communicate this to the team through the development of business cases, project proposals and strategy development.

  • Help track metrics (inputs, outputs, and outcomes) for Scrum teams; monitors these on an ongoing basis.

  • Facilitate process of deciding which stories will be included in each sprint through understanding team’s velocity and story scope and size.

  • Be a champion of the MVP concept, distilling the product down to what is desirable, viable and feasible.

  • Develop project and capability/technology roadmap and align project milestones/sprints to project priorities.

  • Lead sprint planning, daily stand-ups, and review/retrospective sessions with rest of employees.


Qualifications you need...

  • Ten (10) years of experience in technical project management.

  • Three (3) years of hands-on experience as a Scrum master.

Other stuff you should have...

  • Bachelor's Degree in Business, Engineering, Computer Science/Information Systems or relevant technical discipline.

  • Scrum Master Certification.

  • Experience with mobile app development, advanced analytics, and/or robotic process automation.

  • Experience in industrial enterprises with large represented field personnel – utilities preferred.

  • Have hands-on experience with agile technologies and tools – HP ALM Octane preferred and have a basic understanding of DevOps technologies and tools, e.g., Jenkins, GitHub.
