About Transmission and Distribution
Southern California Edison’s (SCE's) Transmission and Distribution Organization (T&D) is responsible for planning, engineering, constructing, operating, and maintaining transmission and distribution facilities throughout the 50,000-square-mile territory. T&D is the steward of roughly $19 billion in assets that safely and reliably deliver electricity to 14 million residents via SCE’s5 million customer accounts.
The Database Project Manager will work within Grid Contract Management (GCM). GCM develops, amends, and manages Grid Interconnection Agreements between SCE and developers/customers that are instrumental in helping SCE build the grid of the future using renewable energy.
The successful candidate will manage and improve existing MS Access database (GCM database), including automating our manual processes, streamlining existing processes and reporting within the database. The GCM database tracks contract lifecycle, including contract deadlines, regulatory milestones, compliance reporting (EQR, NERC CIP), and data requests. The database houses the terms and conditions needed to ensure compliance with the applicable contracts and tariffs.
Successful candidate will also assist with transitioning our data and processes from the GCM database to a new “to be determined software” platform. Includes coordinating with internal and external users to gather business requirements, and develop solutions from conceptual to operational. Includes research, analysis, design, development, testing, implementation, data conversion, and on-going maintenance of the new application.

Typical responsibilities will include:
Coordinate with internal and external users to interpret business requirements, and develop solutions from conceptual to operational, including research, analysis, design, development, testing, implementation, data conversion, and on-going maintenance of the new application.
Performs in-depth analysis, develops recommendations, and may provide consulting to address customer and/or company issues which cross organizational boundaries and require thorough technical knowledge to resolve.
Leads a team or participates as a team member during implementation of specialized technical software projects. Includes documenting issues, creating job aids, user guides, and all types of documentation to support our business needs.
Provides consultative services on an as-needed basis to department and division management, customers, and client organizations on specialized technical software issues.
Develop innovative solutions to improve existing processes and procedures related to contract administration with the objective of ensuring overall contract compliance.
Includes redesign and managing MS Access database which hosts Grid Contracts Management data.
Manage data quality control, perform data analysis, and detect deficiencies to ensure data integrity.
Identify opportunities to automate as many processes and data entry tasks as possible to improve productivity.
Troubleshoot technical issues for various GCM systems. Includes proactively identifying problems based on data, analysis of inconsistencies, and anomalies, investigating and resolving technical operational issues, setting up queries and running reports on various tasks and monthly status goals.
Produce compliance reports/metrics for management and users, and respond to data requests promptly.
Setup security access and software applications/tools and training for new users.
Four or more years of experience performing analysis, consulting, and providing recommendations.
Four or more years of experience managing software projects.
Experience with relational database design, including data indexing, normalization, modeling, and mapping.
Advance knowledge of MS Access, including experience creating Tables, custom Queries, Forms, Reports and Macros in MS Access.
VBA and SQL Coding experience.
Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Business, Engineering or related field
Experience working on a cross functional team to perform system development work, including but not limited to, system planning and design, development and prototyping, testing, implementation and administration, documentation and maintenance.
Experience facilitating the integration of data and data migration from multiple sources and performing synchronization on an ongoing basis.
Experience leveraging Microsoft Office 365, SharePoint, Visio and OneDrive to solve business problems.
Familiar with WDAT, Rule 21 and CAISO Tariffs and Regulatory Agencies (CPUC, CAISO, FERC).
Must be a team player and work closely with users. The successful candidate must exhibit outstanding interpersonal and team-player skills.
Ability to perform the role of Requirements Analyst, Developer, Quality Assurance Analyst, Trainer and Project Manager interchangeably.
