In our Customer Insights team, we are looking for a highly motivated research Project Manager to lead primary customer-focused and secondary research projects.

As a Project Manager in the Customer Insights team, you will use your expertise in market research principles and direct project management experience. You get the ability to use your analytical abilities and self-starter attitude, while embracing ambiguity, and have the opportunity to think big (while paying careful attention to detail). You will be working closely with Data Scientists, Product Development, and Marketing to always make sure to represent the voice of our customers.

Detailed stuff you’ll be doing …
Partner with our internal clients to understand their business objectives and research needs.
Lead high-profile research projects from scoping, design, and analysis, using diverse data sources and methodologies. Examples include initiatives such as product innovation, consumer behavior and usage, benchmarking, etc.
Oversee and lead 3rd party research vendors, providing detailed and direct oversight of deliverables and analysis.
Develop and lead project schedules and budgets.
Design research questionnaires and moderator guides.
Moderate focus groups and conduct in-depth interviews with SMEs.
Work with online survey programming and reporting tools like VisionCritical, Spark etc. and statistical packages like SPSS.
Present recommendations to senior management and work with other teams to communicate recommendations for the purpose of driving strategic initiatives.
Qualifications you need …
As a fit for this role, you are a highly motivated Project Manager that wants to lead using your passionate about customer insights, and are zealous about uncovering the truth with data. At the end of the day, you desire to drive real change—for the better for everyone.
Bachelor’s degree or higher.
Seven (7) or more years’ experience designing and conducting research in social sciences or market research.
Two (2) or more years of analytical experience.
Extensive expertise with qualitative and quantitative market research, using both primary and secondary techniques.
Experience analyzing large, complex, multi-dimensional data sets and interacting with relational databases (e.g. Teradata) using SQL, SAS, R and/or SPSS.
Strong understand of statistical methodologies applied to market research (descriptive and inferential statistics).
Advanced skills with Microsoft Office suite applications.
Other qualifications that will set you up for success …
Education in Marketing, Business, Psychology, Sociology, or other Social Sciences involving research principles, customer and market research.
Experience consulting with internal partners, including independently identifying client needs, defining research requirements and measures, developing action plans, scoping deliverables, and presenting results.
Knowledge of forecasting and tracking customer engagement trends.
Knowledge of analytics and behavioral metrics tools.
Experience leading and implementing projects, including identifying, maintaining, and/or adjusting the cost, scope, and resources, leading vendors, and handling the formal planning, tracking, and reporting of project performance, as well as experience leading cross-functional teams.
Strong ethics, influence and negotiation, leadership, interpersonal skills, communication, and the ability to effectively lead stress and engage in continuous learning.
Expertise and leadership ensuring best in class research applications and techniques are applied.
Knowledge of statistics (e.g., multivariate statistics, predictive modeling, controlled test design).
Experience developing, implementing and refining predictive models to acquire, lead and retain customer relationships. Utilizes various analytic tools (including primary/secondary research) to define and maintain customer segmentation schemes.
Preferred experience in the utilities industry.
