About Transmission and Distribution

Southern California Edison’s (SCE's) Transmission and Distribution Organizational Unit (T & D) is responsible for planning, engineering, constructing, operating, and maintaining transmission and distribution facilities throughout the 50,000-square-mile territory. T&D is the steward of roughly $19 billion in assets that safely and reliably deliver electricity to 14 million residents via SCE’s 5 million customer accounts.

Position Overview

This position will be in the Contract Management, Asset Management and Operations Support group within Southern California Edison’s (SCE) Transmission and Distribution Organizational Unit. This position will be responsible for managing a portfolio of transmission related contracts under the jurisdiction of the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission (FERC), California Public Utilities Commission (CPUC), and the California Independent System Operator (CAISO).

Typical Responsibilities :

  • Responsible for managing and coordinating contract administration activities to ensure all contractual obligations are met and maintained in a manner that ensures good customer relations while representing the interest of the company.

  • Acts as the single point of contact for customers on contractual matters.

  • Leads meetings, develops agendas, summarizes and documents decisions and action items, and disseminates meeting minutes.

  • Monitors and completes contract close-out, extension or renewal, and communicates information to all stakeholders.

  • Ensures effective and sustainable controls are in place to meet FERC, CPUC, and CAISO compliance requirements.

  • Develops and follows processes to ensure contracts are managed efficiently, consistently, and in compliance with SCE’s commitments under the contracts and its regulatory obligations.

  • Interprets contract provisions, resolves unusual or politically sensitive disputes, and resolves invoice and payment issues.

  • Provides advice, solutions, and recommendations on decisions having moderate impact on the organization.

  • Updates the electronic document storage system and contract database.

  • Performs other duties and responsibilities as assigned.


Minimum Qualifications

  • Five or more years of experience in functions related to Contract Management or Program Management.

  • Utility Industry or Aerospace industry experience.

Desired Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Business, Finance, Economics, Statistics or in a STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Mathematics) discipline.

  • Experience in performing all aspects of contract management, including analyzing significant, and/or unique contract requirements, special provisions, terms and conditions to ensure compliance, defining required actions to satisfy contractual obligations, and resolving contractual issues or disputes.

  • Familiar with FERC, CPUC, and CAISO tariffs and regulations.

  • Five or more years of experience in contract management or program management specifically in the areas of compliance, risk management or quality control.

  • Experience analyzing complex information, formulating logical approaches and making effective recommendations to address complex issues.

  • Experience prioritizing and managing competing priorities while maintaining close attention to detail, accuracy and timeliness.

  • Ability to clearly and concisely express information to wide range of persons including non-technical associates, peers, and executive management.

  • Experience with the development and application of industry best practices, standards, procedures, and compliance as they relate to contract management.

  • Experience working in a team and cross-functional environment, being able to transition between a lead and support role as driven by the business.

  • Proficient with Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Visio.
