Provides technical and administrative support to the staff

responsible for operating the Company electric transmission and

distribution system and/or after-hours customer service and/or electric

emergency and/or trouble dispatching activities and/or reviews,

schedules, and coordinates electric facility outage applications.

  1. Monitor and analyze

various EMS and recorded information to ensure proper scheduling of

equipment outages that affect the system.

  1. Provides guidance and ensures compliance with appropriate

regulations (NERC) and related procedures as it pertains to substation operations, participates in the development of policies and procedures to track required maintenance and testing and ensure compliance.


  1. Administers the training program for substation operations

including scheduling and managing the training for substation personnel

and new hires.

Assure all employees receive required training in a timely fashion,

collaborate with the training center in overall training program development

to maximize trained knowledge within optimal time limits, and trains

employees on policies and procedures as required.

  1. Manage Trouble/Outage Management System activity including storm

restoration efforts, system enhancements and modifications, and support

and training.

  1. Initiate and manage technical projects related to Substation

Operations activities, including budget development and cost tracking.

Skills and Requirements

Bachelor’s Degree with a minimum of 1-year relevant experience

preferred. Associates Degree with a minimum of 3 years relevant

experience required.




• Knowledge of NERC requirements and other State and Federal

regulations pertaining to the electric industry.

• Knowledge of electrical theory

• Knowledge of trouble/outage management systems.

• Knowledge of SAP


• Effective verbal and written communication skills.

• Excellent interpersonal skills.

• Provide procurement support for New York Substation Operations, including

direct, delegated, and centralized purchases using SAP and IBUY.

• Provide back-up support for New York storm invoice processing.
