Job Summary

This internship opportunity will be assigned to thePipeline Optimization Groupwithin Dominion Transmission and is located in Richmond, VA. This role will assist the system gas operations group in the daily operation tracking and reporting on the Dominion Pipeline system. This position will assist with monitoring and reporting on system storage, deliveries, receipts, imbalances, and third party transactions occurring. These responsibilities are done by monitoring systems on a daily basis and comparing the daily set up sheets to actual flow data that was obtained from the electronic bulletin boards and nominations as well as gas measured. This role will work with other groups such as Gas Control, Transportation Services, and Storage Engineering.

Dominion Transmission operates one of the world's largest underground natural gas storage systems. The company has links to other major pipelines and to markets in the Midwest, Mid-Atlantic and Northeast regions of the United States.

Dominion Transmission maintains 7,800 miles of transmission pipeline in six states—Ohio, West Virginia, Pennsylvania, New York, Maryland and Virginia. We store and transport large quantities of natural gas for large customers, such as major utilities and power plants. Along the way, we change gas pressures and heat, cool, dehydrate, refine and store large quantities of natural gas.

Dominion Transmission also produces about 9.5 million dekatherms of natural gas annually from its own wells and operates more than 3,000 miles of gathering pipeline, through which it gathers nearly 113 million dekatherms (MMdt) of natural gas annually. It processes more than 84 MMdt annually at its state-of-the-art processing facility at Hastings in Wetzel County, W.Va., and sells more than 160 million gallons of the liquids produced there.

Required Knowledge, Skills, Abilities & Experience

  • Must be a full-time student at a 4-year university currently pursuing a major in Engineering, Business, Commerce or a related major.

  • Students must have an anticipated graduation date of December 2021 or later.

  • Must have a cumulative GPA of 2.5 or higher

  • Strong attention to detail.

  • Abiity to establish and maintain rapport.

  • Ability to plan and organize work.

  • Ability to operate MS Windows Suite, including strong Excel and Power Point skills.

  • Excellent attention to detail

Education Requirements
