Job Summary

The Right of Way Associate Project Manager is responsible for managing onsite resources and logistics and will facilitate support activities for projects/programs within an assigned Region or Division.

This position is accountable for project's success from the initial bidding process, to meeting or exceeding the clients' expectations, through the profitable completion of the job. Additionally, this position provides direct support to other functional project teams in the planning and execution of the job including:

  • Assessing and recommending project resource requirements.

  • Interfacing with client representatives regarding the project's progress.

  • Management of project controls and accounting.

  • Track job status and manage the flow of assigned projects from start to finish, scheduling jobs and coordinating work with field labor.

Responsibilities

  • Monitor overall project performance (scope, safety, quality, schedule, innovation, cost, resource issues, risks, and customer satisfaction).

  • Interact with customers for status updates for complete understanding of their requests, work with internal/external team members to ensure customer's expectations are met.

  • Be actively engaged in the management of the overall project life-cycle and provide timely reporting and contract related documents to management and stakeholders.

  • Aid in ensuring that team goals, roles, protocols, and business relationships are consistent with high-performance requirements and congruent with the company's strategy.

  • Ensure compliance with the established Project Management Methodology and uphold safety and quality management protocols.

  • Make recommendations regarding improvements to process enhancements.

  • Report project status and performance data including financial results, physical progress, productivity schedule and changes in scope to management, project sponsors and stakeholders as required.

  • Assists the operations department in meeting project completion schedules and labor and material cost budgets as directed.

  • Proficient at identifying and initiating work-around procedures and working with project managers and supervisors to assist in maintaining crew productivity during delays caused by other trades, customer, lack of materials, absenteeism, etc.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's of Science degree in Business, Project Management, Construction Management, Engineering/Right oF Way or equivalent relatable experience.

  • 2+ years of relevant Project Management Experience required.

  • General understanding of utility Right Of way operations, standards and practices, contract administration, contract management, and standards required.

  • Financial acumen including P&L tracking reports, have the ability to estimate scheduling of material and man-hours and be able to effectively develop a detailed (SOW) statement of work.

  • Demonstrate general knowledge and experience in Project Management Methodology along with a working knowledge of reading RFP'S, blueprints, specifications, contractual language, and project scheduling.

  • Strong interpersonal, leadership, verbal and written communication skills required.

  • Demonstrate ability to develop additional business through strong Project Management, technical and customer relationship management.
