Serves as liaison between business users and IT teams to analyze business requests and provide functional support for PeopleSoft, PowerPlan and Hyperion and other financial systems. Evaluate business requests to determine requirements, feasibility, and recommend business solutions. Recommend and develop opportunities for process improvements.

SALARY RANGE: $51,000 - $66,330 (Base salary is determined by the knowledge, skills and abilities of the applicant.)

REPORTING RELATIONSHIP: Financial Systems Manager


  • Provide production support for all financial system applications and serve as the primary support for end users. Applications include but are not limited to PeopleSoft, PowerPlan and Hyperion products.

  • Possess an understanding of Enterprise Resource Planning systems and act as a subject matter expert to the finance & business organization.

  • Identify process efficiencies, recommend innovative use of software functionality, communicate design, implement solutions and train end-users.

  • Evaluate, recommend and implement process improvements for utilization of Microsoft Excel spreadsheets in Accounting and Finance to enhance internal controls and improve efficiencies.

  • Translate business/functional requirements into technical specifications for the IT organization.

  • Facilitate work sessions with business units to develop functional business requirements for complex projects.

  • Facilitate business process redesign sessions and create documentation, as needed for new methodology.

  • Provide testing and design support and consultation for assigned projects.

  • Provide assistance and project management skills on assigned projects.

  • Provide production support.

  • Participate in release planning, production validation, and other project related activities as needed.

  • Maintain and support system security protocols to ensure internal controls and segregation of duties are in compliance with Sarbanes Oxley requirements.

  • Provide coaching and mentoring to other Business Analysts.

  • Measure customer satisfaction at the end of projects by capturing customer feedback using appropriate techniques to gain, maintain, and improve long-term relationships.

  • Perform other duties as assigned.


  • Finance and Accounting departments.

  • IT Developers, DBA’s and Managers.

  • Build and maintain relationships across departments of the organization including IT, end users and internal audit, etc.


  • Three or more (3+) years of experience in a business analyst role.

  • Finance & accounting experience preferred.

  • Experience in developing test plan and test scripts.

  • Hyperion knowledge preferred.

  • PeopleSoft knowledge preferred.

  • SQL knowledge preferred.

  • Advanced Microsoft Excel skills strongly preferred.


  • Bachelor’s degree in Management Information Systems or Business Administration or an equivalent combination of education and experience.


  • SQL /PS Query writing knowledge required.

  • Working knowledge of segregation of duties and internal controls.

  • Working knowledge of accounting terms.

  • Working knowledge of interface procedures.

  • Understanding of project management.


  • Demonstrated business analyst skills, including requirements definition, documentation, system testing, and user training.

  • Adaptability to changing business environments.

  • Ability to act as a change agent to finance and business organization.

  • Must be skilled at creating functional & technical requirements.

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills are required.

  • Demonstrated proficiency in MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, and Visio) required.
