Inventory Control Coordinator
Academic and Trade Qualifications:
High School diploma or equivalent required.
Five years experience in a warehouse or in some operation of an inventory control environment.
Knowledge of stock and material catalogs and inventory count procedures and corrective actions.
Experience in operating electronic data entry system and a variety of office machines. – Advise and coordinate with regarding shortage, damaged goods, and return authorizations.
Experience in an automated barcode environment preferred.
Review receiving reports for accuracy and out-of-line cost variances and notifies department director of such.
Maintain accurate receiving records and files.
Coordinate with Purchasing, Sales Department and Warehouse Department regarding inventory receipt discrepancies, RMAs and on demand cycle counts.
Plan and perform monthly cycle count for inventory control and accuracy.
Investigate and resolve cycle count variances and report on total count and variances.
Assist in preparing for annual physical inventory count.
Maintain inventory control records and files.
Coordinate with Sales Coordinators and Warehousemen regarding discrepancies on customer shipments.
Provide backup for Warehousemen: Pulling and packing orders for shipping, operate warehouse equipment safety, and inspect incoming shipments for accuracy and damage.
Submit common carrier claims
Assist supervisor with special projects.
Thorough understanding of inventory cycle count practices.
Must be familiar with safety rules and precautions as set forth by OSHA.
Should have effective working knowledge of office procedures.
Exercise correct and efficient methods of loading and unloading materials for shipping and receiving.
Abilities and Skills:
Must possess good general math and data entry skills.
Must be detail oriented and able to handle concurrent activities with ability to coordinate to achieve satisfactory results.
Must be able to communicate effectively and congenially with customers, the public and interoffice staff.
Must be able to operate a forklift safely.
Must possess good computer skills.
Must possess excellent customer service knowledge and skills.
Normal conditions; however, must be available or on call during emergency situations. Must be willing to transport materials to other locations necessary. Must have a valid NC Drivers license.
