The Business Development Manager is responsible for developing marketing strategies and executing customer acquisition tactics using existing and new networks of relationships. This position supports sales and marketing and works with customers, senior leaders, and personnel from other departments.
Leverage existing network of MasTec customer relationships into a broader set of business opportunities.
Estimate resources and participants required to achieve market campaigns and customer acquisition efforts.
Manage large and complex business development efforts.
Ensure that a rigorous business development process is implemented and used.
Review legal contracts, terms, and conditions with legal counsel for customer provision.
Develop and deliver progress reports, proposals, requirements documentation, and presentations.
Coach, mentor, motivate, and supervise team members.
Identify and resolve issues and conflicts within regional and customer teams.
Examine bid package specifications and drawings to determine work quantities and bid units required for submission of quotes to customers.
Work with MasTec Project owners to estimate manpower and equipment requirements for bidding project and determines production rate that crews will obtain.
Obtain and review bids and material pricing from other firms for conformity to contract requirements and determine acceptable bids.
Examine estimates of material, equipment, production costs, performance requirements, and delivery schedules to ensure completeness and accuracy.
Complete bidding forms and documents required by customers to include pre-qualification documents.
Review project proposals to determine time frame, project accomplishment procedures, staffing requirements, project schedule preparation, and allocation of available resources within the project.
Prepare status reports and modify schedules or plans as required.
Perform other duties as required and/or assigned.
A High School Diploma, or equivalent with 3 years of cost estimating experience.
Knowledge of underground utility infrastructure.
Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications.
Possess a valid driver’s license.
Ability to travel to and from prospective job sites for evaluation, with possible overnight stays.
Experience in the construction industry, with underground utility infrastructure.
Experience with fiber optic, electric, and gas distribution is a plus.
Physical Demands and Work Environment
This job operates primarily in a professional office environment, with job site inspections as needed. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, copiers, and scanners.

This position is primarily sedentary, with some filing or lifting required. Must be able to bend and lift and carry up to 20 pounds.
