Intern will undertake responsibilities which may involve any or all of the following: quality assurance of scheduling and cost management data, metric reporting, assist with new rollout of Document Management system, and special assignments as needed for the team in support of Transmission Project Controls.

Transmission Project Controls provides scheduling and financial analysis support of Project Managers working on Capital construction projects. The group also provides financial support working closely with Asset Accounting and Finance.

The intern selected will be assigned to specific operations related work needs once on board. In addition of the Microsoft suite of software, other software applications utilized by electric utilities may be used.

Basic/Required Qualifications

  • Currently enrolled and pursuing a four-year degree in Engineering, Project Management, Accounting, or Business at an accredited college or university

  • Cumulative GPA of at least 2.75

  • Ability to work 40 hours per week during the summer

Desired Qualifications

  • Demonstrated excellent written and oral communication skills

  • Cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher

  • Experience with the Microsoft Office Suite software

  • Demonstrates ability to provide the quantity and quality of work necessary to reach an accomplishment

  • Demonstrated leadership qualities through effective decision making

  • Works effectively with others from diverse backgrounds to achieve common goal

  • Ability to deliver superior results within allocated time through effective prioritization, scheduling, planning and execution of assigned work

  • Demonstrates tenacity by remaining persistence in the face of difficulty

  • Demonstrated technical proficiency in use of computers, software, and engineering applications

  • Desire to pursue a career in the energy industry

  • Previous engineering work experience

  • Statistical analysis and data processing

Specific Requirements

  • Required to wear personal protective equipment (hardhat, safety glasses, appropriate clothing, ear plugs, fall protection, etc.) as needed

Working Conditions

  • Office and field environment - requires walking, light lifting, infrequent climbing, and occasional exposure to temperature and noise
