Position Summary

This co-op position will learn the responsibilities it takes for providing necessary support to ensure that generating facilities and company operations are in compliance with federal, state and local environmental laws and regulations in addition to corporate environmental policies and procedures. The co-op will learn the responsibilities to serve as an environmental subject matter expert, provide technical expertise and judgment to resolve basic environmental issues.

The work will vary, however there will be opportunity to performs trend analyses, incident investigations or site audits for assigned function. Evaluates and reviews basic proposed and existing codes, standards, regulations and guidelines to determine the impact on company programs and facility operations and assists in comments to regulatory authorities.

Basic/Required Qualifications

  • Currently enrolled and pursuing a four-year degree in engineering, environmental, science, health, safety or other related field of study

  • Minimum cumulative GPA of 2.75

  • Ability to work a minimum of two co-op sessions

  • Valid driver’s license

Desired Qualifications

  • Enrolled in the co-op program at an accredited college or university or the ability to be enrolled in the program prior to start date

  • Based on a 4-point scale, a cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher

  • Desire to pursue a career in the energy industry

  • Demonstrated ability to work independently

  • Demonstrated excellent verbal and written communication skills

  • Demonstrated history of achievements and personal performance

  • Works effectively with others from diverse backgrounds to solve problems and implement solutions

  • Demonstrated technical proficiency in use of computers, software, and engineering applications
