We process more than 11 million tons of waste annually, converting 6.7 million tons of waste into clean, renewable energy that powers 340,000 homes. We recycle more than 234,000 tons of plastic, paper, and metals from the waste stream.

Summary: We currently have an opening for a Shared Services Manager at our corporate office in Portsmouth, NH. This role will lead the service writers within the Maintenance department to meet and exceed KPI’s and analytics, drive operational process standardization, and support operations integration. In addition, this person will collaboratively partner with the Procurement and AP Teams.

Essential Duties

  • Work closely with Sr. Manager AP/Treasury & VP Operations and Integration to determine priorities and set action plans to drive improvement and operational excellence.

  • Partner with cross-functional teams on contracts/buying activities and incremental process improvement projects.

  • Follow Procurement sourcing policies and procedures, inclusive of competitive bidding.

  • Participate in projects to implement, establish, and document Service Writer and/or Accounts Payable business processes, procedures, and related narratives, including workflows.

  • Represent Service Writers, train and support SW team with organizational goals, acquisition integration tasks, data standardization, TMW and other organizational initiatives as needed. Attend safety meetings.

  • Enable a continuous improvement culture by actively engaging in and contributing to the development and deployment of Service Writer/Accounts Payable initiatives. Immediately communicate issues of unsafe behaviors/locations, etc.

  • Supervise, coach, and advise the Service Writer staff on procedures, controls, and issue resolution. Travel to site locations for field interactions/training.

  • Provide technical support to Service Writers as well as maintenance and testing of Service Writer/AP Systems/Records including but not limited to SharePoint, TMW, D365, DVIR, ODS, OEM, etc.

  • Other duties as assigned.

Education/Experience

  • Bachelor's Degree, or equivalent experience, in Accounting, Business Administration or similar area of study, and five to seven years previous experience preferred.

  • 3+ years of management experience, with a focus on strategy implementation; experience working within a transportation environment highly valued; waste industry experience a plus.

  • Strong communication skills, analytical skills and experience influencing peers and senior leaders.

  • General accounting and supervisory knowledge may be required.

  • Competency identifying/establishing, implementing, and sharing operational best practices.

  • Process optimization experience.

Knowledge, Skills & Competencies

  • Industry knowledge: preferably in the waste or transportation industry.

  • Front-line staff leadership development and culture-setting expertise.

  • Project Management: Strong project management skills and knowledge of program management principles, methodology and tools; able to plan and lead project implementations with a sense of urgency and in the context of broader program initiatives, including scheduling, resources, scope, budget, risks/issues, communication, and reporting.

  • Previous experience in automotive/fleet service management or a related role.

  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Build strong cross-functional relationships quickly to align on actions and resources required and to mutually accomplish company goals.

  • Travel required may be up to 25% of the job.
