General Purpose

Ensure the accuracy of company-wide telecommunications inventory. Provide moderate to complex activities to drive cost savings and efficiencies. Analyze root causes to develop processes to monitor, record, maintain, audit and verify the telecommunications inventory. Lead complex departmental and cross-platform projects related to IT asset management.

Responsibilities

  • Manage telecommunication contracts to identify needs, manage the vendor relations, perform cost analysis, and file carrier disputes. (20%)

  • Oversee work performed by third party vendors to provision and repair telecom services including lifecycle activities related to the Telecom Expense Management (TEM) system, quotes, and invoices (20%)

  • Manage internal circuit inventories and audits to establish efficiencies and cost savings for multiple affiliated businesses. (20%)

  • Ensure all moves, adds, changes, and disconnects are captured by the TEM system and that data is accurate. (15%)

  • Act as an expert resource to the group and actively leads data migration projects in converting and/or upgrading new affiliate businesses to TEM systems. (15%)

  • Actively monitor and identify service level agreements for telecommunications repair, change, and outage request. (0-5%)

  • Manage carrier portal access for other employees and/or vendors (0-5%)

  • Prepare frequent reports for engineers, analysts and leadership. (0-5%)

  • Perform any additional responsibilities as requested or assigned. 0-5%

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Information Systems, Computer Science, or related technical field; or equivalent work experience. (Typically 4 years of additional related, progressive work experience would be needed for candidates applying for this position who do not possess a Bachelor’s degree. A minimum of 2 years additional directly related technical voice and/or data network or general telecommunications experience is required).

  • Five years of related experience in telecommunications-related work, knowing high-level functional and provisioning differences between carrier circuit offerings such as T1, SIP, Ethernet, MPLS, et al.

  • Strong knowledge of carrier-provided telecom services including strong knowledge of telecom billing, TEM, invoice validation, invoice audits, and optimization.

  • High proficiency in Microsoft office (Word, Outlook, PowerPoint)

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills including the ability to liaise between vendors, operations, and clients as needed

  • Ability to manage tasks on project lines through completion

  • Ability to interpret telecom invoices

  • Previous experience in TEM function

  • Ability to prioritize and handle multiple tasks and projects concurrently

Preferences

  • Experience with operational management of commercial Telecom Expense Management Systems (TEMs) such as Tangoe/Rivermine, Xigo, or similar at a large enterprise.

  • High proficiency in Microsoft Excel (Pivot tables, macros, v-lookups)

  • Experience with service provider portals such as AT&T, Lumen, Zayo, et al.

  • Experience with cloud services, network services

This position is eligible for an annual discretionary performance incentive bonus of up to 12.00% of salary.
