General Purpose

Conduct analysis, create system specifications, develop, test, and implement engineering, scientific, and business applications, operating systems, and file/database servers. Utilize existing or new technology in the automation of processes. Evaluate software packages and provide recommendations to management.


Responsibilities of this position include the following:

  • Assist in providing technical support, diagnosis, testing, and resolving system problems.

  • Support the process modeling infrastructure and performs process analysis and data modeling using standard tools.

  • Research and analyze strategies, programs, and processes across and between all corporate functions.

  • Maintain repositories and develops java applications using J2EE framework.

  • Create UML diagrams, reverse engineer databases, and generate DDL, XML, and other modeling tasks.

  • Support client server packages for both thick and thin clients, web applications, and MS Access.

  • Work with vendors to resolve problems with software and respond to suggestions for improvement and enhancements.

  • Handle critical development issues.

  • Research and analyze data.

  • Gather data on systems issues, define alternative approaches, assess business impact, recommend cost effective solutions, and develop and implement those solutions.


Requirements for this position include the following:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration, Mathematics, Finance, Engineering, or a related field; or the equivalent combination of education and experience.

  • Basic understanding of client server package and web based applications support including Unix and NT environments, Java, MS Access, and writing SQL.

  • Technical skills including programming, installation, configuration, and database management.

  • Communication and interpersonal skills for consulting with users to understand needs, define requirements, and provide effective solutions.

  • Knowledge of current technologies, tools, applications, and vendors.


  • Understanding of company’s existing IT environment and of applicable company policies, practices, and procedures.
