General Purpose

Processes vendor invoices in a timely and accurate manner for manager approval and payment to vendors. Conducts invoice review to audit rate and billing accuracy and ensures vendor invoices include correct work orders and purchase order numbers. Works with Accounts Payable and company management to obtain required approvals for invoice payment within the required timeframe to capture vendor discounts. Responds to manager requests to create purchase requisitions or to provide research or other support as needed. Updates and distributes monthly discount tracker management report.

Responsibilities

  • Promote a customer first culture and commit to delivering outstanding results for customers.

  • Conduct analysis through research, gathering, and interpretation of data.

  • Manage invoice process from invoice receipt to payment, ensuring that the company receives vendor payment discounts.

  • Calculates and submits month-end accrual for vendor invoices that have been received but not yet posted and for completed work not yet invoiced.

  • Audit vendor invoices for accuracy, including rates and calculations.

  • Create purchase requisitions and purchase orders.

  • Audit business system data, examine actuals against targets, forecast performance, analyze business processes, and conduct special studies.

  • Present analysis but not limited to feasibility studies, cost/benefit analysis, trending/forecasting, financial analysis, budget analysis, and reporting.

  • Report on performance, including a monthly discount tracker report, and assist in developing alternatives and recommendations for improvement to management.

  • Provide training and communication of changes in policies and procedures.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Finance or other applicable field; or the equivalent combination of education and experience

  • A minimum of three years experience contributing to the development of proven data/information gathering, analysis, modeling, and interpretation skills.

  • Proficient with the use of personal computers including spreadsheet, database, word processing, and presentation applications to gather, analyze, and model information.

  • Advanced communication and interpersonal skills to interface with team members and customers to promote positive customer outcomes.

  • Proven communication and interpersonal skills including the ability to consult with internal and external customers regarding matters which may be sensitive in nature.

  • Ability to work with all levels of an organization, including people with different styles and backgrounds, and ability to work as a member on a team.

  • Ability to present alternatives and recommendations.

  • Teamwork skills to negotiate with and influence peers and management on policy and strategic issues.

  • Proven problem solving skills.

Preferences

  • Knowledge of the electric utility industry.

  • Experience with information technology projects and processes.

  • Knowledge of applicable company policies and procedures; applicable federal, state, and local governmental laws and regulations.

  • SAP experience.
