About Transmission and Distribution

Southern California Edison’s (SCE's) Transmission and Distribution Organizational Unit (T & D) is responsible for planning, engineering, constructing, operating, and maintaining transmission and distribution facilities throughout the 50,000-square-mile territory. T&D is the steward of roughly $19 billion in assets that safely and reliably deliver electricity to 14 million residents via SCE’s 5 million customer accounts.

Position Overview

This position will be in the Technical Planning Design Contractor Hub within SCE’s Transmission and Distribution (T&D) Organizational Unit. The Project/Program Analyst will support process improvement projects and oversee the design and maintenance of organization reporting, tools, and metrics.

Typical Responsibilities:

  • Award poles in Poletracker for design to internal/external design resources

  • Import and export all planning progress reports

  • Update Poletracker with dates when packages are received from contractors

  • Validate data in Poletracker from Planning Progress Report (PPR) to ensure it matches the work order packages received from planning resources

  • Review and respond to Joint Pole Organization (JPO) Return-to-Originator (RTOs), Preliminary status reports (PREs), and Planner Memos

  • Run monthly contractor or planning resource scorecard numbers

  • Run ad-hoc reports as needed

  • Maintain a safe work environment by following Edison’s protocols

  • Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned

Minimum Qualifications

  • Two or more years of experience in an analytical position

  • Experience working with construction design work orders.

  • Experience working in a utility environment.

  • Experience with MS Excel in regards to reporting extraction.

Desired Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Business or related field

  • Experience with Pole Tracker, Project Tracker

  • Experience with Design Manager (DM)

  • Experience working with Design Contractors

  • Demonstrated experience gathering, documenting, and performing complex analysis of data and information in support of the program’s production objectives.

  • Must be proficient in Microsoft Excel, Word, Access, PowerPoint, and Outlook.

  • Demonstrated experience generating reports using SAP.

  • Demonstrated experience extracting data from operation systems and databases for production analysis purposes.

  • Demonstrated experience creating/publishing reports and production indicators using various office tools.

  • Demonstrated experience providing analytical support for the development of benchmarking and performance improvement metrics.

  • Demonstrated experience tracking status of key project and or production milestones and communicating information back to project management team

  • Demonstrated experience providing high level analytics including statistical analysis to understand areas of improvement.

  • Demonstrated experience designing and operating the reporting functions to operationalize metrics.

  • Demonstrated experience working with other work groups to identify any data issues requiring resolutions.

  • Demonstrated experience giving presentations using reporting metrics, providing recommendations, solicit feedback and obtain buy-in from senior level management.

  • Demonstrated experience coordinating preparation of presentation materials and supporting presentations given by other analysts and supervisors.

  • Demonstrated experience monitoring and documenting invoice processes.

  • Demonstrated experience completing multiple projects/assignments concurrently while adjusting to changing priorities.

  • Demonstrated experience gathering and analyzing large volumes of raw data information from multiple sources to create and deliver presentations to management and clients.

  • Demonstrated experience interfacing and collaborating with clients, peers, management, and other departments.

  • Must demonstrate the ability to integrate work across relevant areas, develop the business and services to enhance customer satisfaction and productivity, manage risks appropriately, develop and execute business plans, manage information, and provide exceptional service to internal and external customers.

  • Must demonstrate effective resource and project planning, decision making, results delivery, team building, and the ability to stay current with relevant technology and innovation.

  • Must demonstrate strong ethics, influence and negotiation, leadership, interpersonal skills, communication, and the ability to effectively manage stress and engage in continuous learning.

  • Demonstrated ability to follow Edison safety protocols and safe work practices.
