About Transmission and Distribution
Southern California Edison’s (SCE's) Transmission and Distribution Organizational Unit (T & D) is responsible for planning, engineering, constructing, operating, and maintaining transmission and distribution facilities throughout the 50,000-square-mile territory. T&D is the steward of roughly $19 billion in assets that safely and reliably deliver electricity to 14 million residents via SCE’s 5 million customer accounts.
The Business Operations Advisor will support a wide variety of Grid Operations projects, programs, and processes in support of our operational areas. In addition, may be required to support short-term and long-term financial planning/tracking, resource planning, General Rate Case (GRC) support and technology implementations. The Advisor will ensure that Grid Operations efficiently adopts and sustains business changes and continuous improvement initiatives while allowing line managers and supervisors to better focus on safe, affordable, and reliable operations; and perform other responsibilities and duties as assigned. Responsible for the development of multiple high-visibility projects by establishing project objectives, creating detailed project plans, determining resource requirements, building cross-functional teams, and executing on deliverables.
Responsibilities may include:
Roll out of new technology to internal and external stakeholders
Cross-functional process improvements
Financial evaluation and development of annual operating plans and tracking of monthly expenditures
General Rate Case Support
Maintain/Create Portal and or SharePoint content
7 years’ experience managing programs/projects as it relates to finance and/or data analytics, business planning, resource planning, or technology implementations.
3 years’ experience supporting and implementing strategies to address and execute on process improvements.
3 years’ experience leading and/or supporting cross-functional teams to address business issues.
Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Business, or Technical Discipline
Experience managing scope, schedule, and budget for multiple cross functional projects and programs.
PMP Certification or Project Management Certificate
6 Sigma Certification (Green or Black Belt)
Experience creating and managing reports/data in SAS Visual Analytics
Monitoring performance metrics to control processes.
Leading cross-functional teams relating to technical areas, as well as acting as a consultant to senior management.
Experience facilitating and managing meetings, establishing agendas, documenting and tracking decisions and action items, and assuring desired results are achieved.
Ability to follow Edison safety protocols and safe work practices.
Strong proficiency with software tools ie: Microsoft Word, Excel, Power Point, and Project.
Ability to integrate work across relevant areas, develop the business and services to enhance productivity, manage risks appropriately, develop and execute business plans, manage information, and provide exceptional service to internal and external customers.
Effective resource and project planning, decision making, results delivery, team building, and the ability to stay current with relevant technology and innovation.
Strong ethics, influence and negotiation, leadership, interpersonal skills, communication (oral and written), and the ability to effectively manage stress and engage in continuous learning.
Ability to work under pressure and in an environment lacking predictability due to external influence
Experience in SharePoint site management.
Demonstrated experience with Grid Operations.
Candidates for this position must be legally authorized to work directly as employees for any employer in the United States without visa sponsorship.
Position will require 20% traveling and being out in the field throughout the SCE service territory.
