This position is part of Southern California Edison’s (SCE) University and Campus Relations Internship Program. The Summer Internship program is a 10-12 week paid opportunity to gain hands-on experience with meaningful work, while developing your skills, and building your network. The internship has an estimated start date of May/June 2019 and an estimated end date of August/September 2019. Summer interns may have the potential to carry on as year-round interns, working part-time throughout the school year. Decisions to work as a year-round intern will be based upon summer performance, business need, and the interest of the intern.
SCE offers these programs with the belief that learning and development are meaningful parts of building future leaders. Interns will also have the opportunity to participate in intern mixers, executive speaker series, site tours, community volunteer events, and cross-company networking.

Examples of what our interns do:
Work together with partners from a variety of teams to support groundbreaking projects and initiatives
Analyze, develop, and execute action plans to improve department efficiency and data integrity
Utilize engineering software to evaluate data and provide analysis
Build business insight by attending meetings and giving presentations
Maintain accurate databases, and provide analysis and evaluation of data
Handle work orders and notifications completed by internal/external partners
Help prepare business documents
Provide scheduling support
Track and update company assets
Perform technical data review and validation
Other duties as assigned
This position is a part of the Distribution Programs and Policies team. Our core value of continuous improvement is being carried out in many aspects of the business impacting Distribution. Improvements are being made in Safety, Staffing and Customer Service through Corporate initiatives and programs such as Affordability, Reliability and CS Replatform. The volume and magnitude of change affecting Distribution programs; the significance of each continuous improvement effort, forecasted initiatives, and criticality of managing performance in all areas of our business has highlighted the need for a robust Distribution Programs and Policies support group.
Typical responsibilities may include:
Sustainment and continuous improvement of programs and projects within the organization. This may include research, analysis, documentation, presentations, development of new processes/procedures, training activities, and deployment of identified items
Managing all documents to assure compliance in support of prudency requirements
Analyzing, tracking, reporting and mitigating issues with schedules, processes and procedures
Creating and preparing meeting packages and reports
Providing support to Project Managers including: meetings, note taking, and transcribing meeting minutes; researching and extracting data from SAP or other systems
Maintaining a safety conscious work environment by following Edison safety protocols and safe work practices
- Must currently be pursuing an undergraduate or graduate degree in Business Administration, Organizational Leadership, Management, Psychology or a related field at an accredited institution with a graduation date of December 2019 or later
Preferred GPA of 2.8 or higher
Demonstrated knowledge of having taken relevant coursework and project or program management experience
Demonstrated experience using Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access, Visio, and Project
Demonstrated experience analyzing information, identifying needs, developing action plans, and providing recommendations
Demonstrated experience consulting with clients, including independently identifying client needs, developing action plans, identifying deliverables, and presenting results
Demonstrated experience collaborating on cross-functional teams to meet objectives
Demonstrated experience working with project teams
Demonstrated experience illustrating excellent analytical and interpersonal skills
Demonstrated excellent oral and written communication skills
Demonstrated ability to take initiative and accountability for results
Demonstrated experience developing and facilitating presentations of data and recommendations
Must demonstrate effective resource and project planning, decision making, results delivery, team building, and the ability to stay current with relevant technology and innovation
Must demonstrate strong ethics, influence and negotiation, leadership, interpersonal skills, communication, and the ability to effectively manage stress and engage in continuous learning
