Develops engineering studies, plans, specifications, calculations, evaluations, design documents, and performance assessments associated with the planning, design, licensing, construction, operation, and maintenance of the company’s generation facilities and systems. Thisposition will need to ensure the environmentally safe and reliable operation of the Jim Bridger plant generating units. Specifically, this position will provide professional level services for ensuring the plant complies with environmental regulatory requirements of the United States Environmental Protection Agency, state, federal, and local laws and regulations relating to thermal
Responsibilities of the Engineer I position include the following:
Monitor Air Emissions to assure compliance with all Plant Permit limits. Alert plant management of deviations.
Provide technical support to plant control and electrical technicians on the operation, calibration and certification of the plant’s continuous emissions monitors.
Compile air emissions reports for submittal to regulatory agencies.
Maintain Records of plant emissions and maintenance records on emissions monitoring systems.
Direct emissions testing and monitor certification.
Analyze the system design, programming, and modification.
Develop moderately complex studies of limited scope and prepare data for cost estimations and analyses.
Run equipment and performance tests and install and inspect new equipment.
Conduct site inspections to ensure adherence to engineering standards.
In Addition, Responsibilities for the Engineer II Level Include:
Design, develop, modify, and evaluate systems, process, or facilities to support Company objectives.
Develop engineering studies, plans, specifications, calculations, evaluations, design documents, and performance assessments.
Determine methods and techniques for obtaining results.
Guide and direct associate level engineers, technicians and drafters.
Recommend alternative solutions to management in area of specialty on engineering solutions to meet business needs.
Deliver on commitments and manage outside engineering services to accomplish the assigned work.
Analyze and designenvrionmental methods.
In Addition, Responsibilities for the Senior Level Include:
Perform role as expert environmental consultant for field operations and customers.
Design, develop, modify, and evaluate systems, process, or facilities to support company objectives, utilizing engineering methods.
Develop highly complex engineering studies, plans, specifications, calculations, evaluations, design documents, and performance assessments.
Act as a lead/expert in the work group; train and mentor associate and career level engineers, technicians and drafters.
Recommend alternative engineering solutions to management to meet business needs.
Maintain project timelines and budgets.
Requirements for Engineer I include the following:
Bachelor’s degree in Chemical, Environmental or Mechanical engineering.
Basic knowledge and application of principles in area of engineering specialty, either mechanical, structural or civil engineering.
Knowledge of applicable federal, state, and local laws and regulations.
Ability to interact favorably with project and work teams.
Communication and interpersonal skills involving the ability to work cross-functionally to understand requirements, present alternatives, and recommendations.
Proficient with the use of personal computers and automated tools.
In Addition,Requirements for Engineer II include:
A minimum of two years of directly related experience in engineering related field.
Working knowledge and understanding of environmental issues and the company’s business processes for areas of accountability.
Knowledge and application of principles in area of engineering specialty.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills involving the ability to work cross-functionally to understand requirements, present alternatives, and recommendations.
Understanding of Company’s business, and relevant policies, procedures, and practices.
Knowledge of applicable federal, state, local laws, and regulations.
Ability to perform effectively in high-pressure situations while maintaining focus and calmness.
Ability to provide timely assessments with limited information and/or assumptions.
In Addition,Requirements for the Senior Level include:
A minimum of five or more years’ experience in industrial power systems or electric utility power systems, or related professional experience.
Advanced technical knowledge and understanding of environmental issues and the company’s business processes. Provide guidance to plant management on environmental compliance.
Demonstrated knowledge and application of principles in area of engineering specialty.
Project management and leadership skills including the ability to work as a team member, to maintain project timelines, budgets, and deliver on commitments.
Demonstrated communication and interpersonal skills involving the ability to work cross-functionally to understand requirements, present alternatives, and recommendations.
Preferences for this position include the following:
Engineering internship or other experience specific to applicable discipline.
Completion of internship with an electrical utility.
Engineering experience specific to industrial power systems or electric utility power systems.
