Job Duties:

Develops or facilitates development and maintenance of all appropriate standards and design, training, testing, operating manuals, and procedures related to energy delivery system construction and maintenance. Ensures documentation is periodically reviewed for accuracy and relevance.

Performs research and keeps aware of new products and technologies in the utility industry that will enhance operational performance or safety. Works with groups across the organization on the adoption and implementation of new technologies.

Leads field investigations to research complaints or concerns from construction or operations for equipment failures or misoperations. Performs root cause analysis to pursue a solution with assistance of the manufacturer.

Leads the development of business or strategic plans for the upgrade or replacement of various

components of the energy delivery system infrastructure. Develops strategies to improve asset utilization and/or drives the development of ideas for creating new revenue streams from the existing asset base.

Works in collaboration with groups across the organization to develop strategic asset plans.

Develops and manages the analysis of system performance and various asset components to optimize investment and ensure high reliability.

As part of this position, Manager will also direct the development of engineering solutions to complex issues, develop and review financial estimates for projects developed by other engineers and consultants, provide mentoring and guidance to less experienced employees, and serve as a subject matter expert on standards issues to groups within and outside of Asset Management.


Education Required:

  • BS Engineering Required (ABET Accredited),

  • Experience in electric utility construction and maintenance

  • Familiarity with ANSI/IEEE Standards

  • Familiarity with NERC and PUC Reliability Standards

Education Preferred :

  • Leadership experience

  • Master’s degree from an ABET accredited university or college (MSEE, MBA, etc.)

  • Professional Engineer (PE) License,

  • 7+ years’ electric utility design, construction or operations preferred.
