Overall Purpose:

This position provides facilities engineering and project management support for capital and maintenance projects related to the operation, repair, construction, and alteration work of Company buildings, properties, facilities and equipment.

Job Responsibilities:

Provide engineering support and specifications to the facilities group for capital and maintenance projects. For all engineering projects assigned; plan, design, estimate, prepare work orders, secure permits, schedule, prepare specifications, and request proposals and quotations. (20% of time)

Perform project management of maintenance and capital projects and programs including project team management, scheduling, field construction inspections/review, and project reporting. (20% of time)

Actively participate in the development and implementation of standards/technical specifications and procedures for facilities, building systems and equipment. (15% of time)

Support compliance with external standards including ASHRAE, IBC, NEC, and OSHA by developing, monitoring and maintaining records and data in accordance with established requirements. (10% of time)

Performs technical studies, investigations, inspections, reviews and audits, and prepares project specific specifications, procedures, and reports. (20% of time)

Participate in the annual planning, budgeting and scheduling of work and ensure schedules are met. Contact manufactures and vendors to determine and verify the accuracy of materials and delivery dates. (10% of time)

Assists in the development/procurement of technical training programs for staff. (5% of time)

Education/Experience Requirements:

Roles at this level require an ABET-accredited degree in Electrical Engineering

With 2+ years of relevant professional experience

Two years of project management experience with a focus on facilities management

A commensurate combination of education and experience will be considered. Competent with the Microsoft Office suite

Strong practical knowledge of commercial and industrial electrical systems, and HVAC

Strong technical background with excellent analytical skills

Ability to collaborate with others and as a member of cross-functional teams.

Problems and issues faced are vague but may be recognizable based on past experience. Accountable for some direct level of reasoning and decision making.

Scope :

Primary focus is on daily deliverables, outputs and reporting. Typically accountable for managing one’s own time and work flow. Responsibilities are generally tactical in nature and work is typically of moderate complexity requiring the incumbent to draw on previous knowledge to perform role. Continues to build knowledge base and develop capabilities by partnering with more experienced staff as needed

Physical Requirements:

Some travel to different company locations, working in an office environment with the ability to participate in field visits to work site with less than desirable conditions including but not limited to climbing ladders, walking in wooded areas, or visiting hazardous locations

A valid PA Driver’s License
