MasTec Advanced Technologies is a preferred contractor for several major companies nationwide. We currently have opportunities for Coax Splicers to join our team. Our Coax Splicers make an immediate impact on our team while creating and maintaining the local telecom infrastructure. As a Coax Splicer, you will be a part of a team of construction professionals who produce high quality work while using specialized skills in splicing, activations, testing, troubleshooting and more to make a difference.

What does our Coax Splicer do?

Our technicians perform basic to advanced installation and troubleshooting for coax equipment and services. They complete installations, repairs, splicing, and integrations to new and existing infrastructure while adhering to safety guidelines.

Some essential duties are:

  • Repair or splice in new lines as needed to complete the testing

  • Place and install required coax cables when necessary

  • Install all passive devices and coax splice cases required to house CATV equipment per customer requirements

  • Troubleshooting and repair of existing coax lines and line equipment

  • Read and understand site plans, maps and diagrams needed to support the project

  • Splice overhead and underground coaxial cables

Preferred Skills

  • 1+ year of telecommunication construction experience preferred

  • 1+ year of experience in splicing, balancing and documenting CATV systems

PTO Policy

0-1 year - 56 hours prorated in year hired

Jan. 1 after year hired - 56 hours

Jan. 1 after 1st anniversary - 96 hours

Jan. 1 after 3rd anniversary - 96 hours (40 hours prorated based on hire date)

Jan. 1 after 5th anniversary - 136 hours (40 hours prorated based on hire date)

Salary $19.38 - $30.50 / hr DOE

What we require:

  • Be able to lift 60-80 pounds

  • Be comfortable working up to 40 feet high, which includes poles, climbing ladders, and bucket trucks as needed

  • Be able to work outdoors in all weather conditions.

  • A valid driver’s license

  • Be able to pass a pre-employment assessment

  • Be able to pass a pre-employment drug test, criminal background check and MVR (driving record) check

  • Be able to work a flexible schedule that may include evenings or weekends
