Starting rate: $5,821

Overall Purpose :

Provide a measurable customer service regarding the corporate use of the asset accounting, work management, and other relevant systems. Under semi-direct supervision, and in conjunction with field engineers, project managers, and field management, review construction design and progress to assist in the identification of property units, the work order initiation and completion, the in service notification, and the completion reporting process, including responsibility for the final unitization of the constructed assets.

Job Responsibilities :

Provide accounting support to field personnel regarding accounting practices and procedures and capital versus maintenance decisions.

Work at assigned field locations to coordinate, with the responsible engineers, project managers, or field management the work order initiation process. This process includes, but not limited to, the identification of capital assets being constructed and/or retired, establishment of the project cost estimate by cost center activity and cost element.

During the construction phase, review and analyze work order charges with construction "as built" progress, assigning costs to assets where practical. This process includes the review and correction of suspended work order charges.

Process completion notifications, including "as-built" data when project construction is complete.

Process in service notifications when projects are determined to be useful in its intended purpose.

Compile and assemble data required in the monthly closing and post-closing reconciliation process.

Assist in the preparation of schedules as directed, to assist in the completion of all data requests and the fulfillment of all reporting needs.

Provide accounting support associated with operating group work management systems to ensure accounting information is synchronized with the plant asset system.

Perform other duties as assigned (e.g. storm-duty, inventory reconciliations, clerical work, etc.).

Education / Experience Requirements:

Seven (7) years of relevant experience in the corporate use of the asset accounting, work management, or other relevant systems or three (3) years of relevant asset accounting or Property Analyst experience and hold at least an associate’s degree in accounting, business, or other related field.

Must be able to pass the company adminsitered standardized test. (SASS)

Knowledge of the Duquesne Light Capitalization Policy.

Knowledge of the process of cost allocation and accounting.

Ability to communicate effectively.

Demonstrated understanding and ability to use computers and associated software.

Knowledge of FERC plant accounts as described in the Code of Federal Regulations (CFR 18).

Valid driver’s license
