Duquesne Light is looking for an individual who is passionate about clean energy and sustainability challenges in the energy industry. The intern would work with the Regulatory and Clean Energy Strategy team, alongside the broader External Affairs group, and support the daily activities of the team, specifically focused on clean energy initiatives.
Provide support with clean energy initiatives, research, and projects within the company.
Conduct research and write summaries on emerging clean energy topics and legislation that impacts the company and Duquesne Light’s service territory.
Help the Clean Energy Advisor coordinate responses to external environmental stakeholders including governmental agencies, university and college researchers, and non-profit organizations.
Provide general support for sustainability focused community engagement events.
Other duties as assigned
Education Required: Current student at an accredited college or university
Major Preferred: Sustainability, Environmental Science, Environmental Studies, Public Policy, Political Science, or related field (other degrees can be considered pending applicable skills, extracurricular activities, and interests)
Strong interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills
Ability to analyze complex issues and communicate clearly and succinctly
Ability to work independently as well as in a team-oriented environment
Desire to learn new information
Experience with Microsoft Office applications
Hybrid Work Statement
Work will be conducted in a hybrid environment with some time working remotely, and some time required to be in-office/on-site. Candidates must be within close proximity to Pittsburgh.
