The Infrastructure Analyst is an experienced professional with general knowledge of and some experience with middleware principles, practices, concepts, and theories. Under general direction participates in application middleware design, integration, implementation, management, documentation, and operational support of infrastructure for the enterprise applications. Assists in supporting existing application infrastructure environments as well as a future cloud solutions. Emphasis is placed on project planning, change management, compliance, security, and best practices. Identifies business needs of internal stakeholders and aligns technology solutions to meet those needs. Coordinates system requirements with third party infrastructure providers.
Provides technical execution of defined activities to support the delivery of middleware initiatives required to achieve efficiency, effectiveness, and innovation objectives.
Participates in the middleware requirements definition, design, analysis, integration, installation, administration, operation, and support of multi-tiered heterogeneous applications.
Researches, identifies and evaluates middleware technology opportunities and quantifies the benefits for the company.
Understands cultural changes needed and assists in providing input for long term strategic planning of server operating systems, server and virtual infrastructure and a move to cloud adoption which aligns with the Company’s Enterprise Solution.
Designs systems that are both secure and operational, providing certificate management as needed.
Provides Level 2 and Level 3 support and problem resolution relative to application middleware activities and components from server to desktop, working with internal and external stakeholders.
Manages the middleware environment and coordinates with stakeholders in supporting multiple environments and providing maximum operational utilization of applications. Creates software packages and deployment strategies for implementation.
Supports Audit, Backup, Disaster Recovery/Business Continuity, and Change Management processes in all supported environments. Devises backup and DR/BC recovery strategies with internal IT and third-party infrastructure providers to support maximum application uptime.
Participates in the planning and migration of modern on premise infrastructure solutions to web-based/cloud infrastructure solutions with minimum guidance.
Works with internal IT and third-party infrastructure teams to ensure audit and change management compliance requirements are met.
Assist entry-level staff within assigned project teams, leveraging technical experience to help to onboard them and in support of meeting expectations and milestones.
Provide communication to management to provide status updates on project activities, and identify risks in delivery or resourcing needs.
Support senior staff to proactively support business objectives.
Provides on-site assistance to third party infrastructure providers as needed.
Can work as a member of a team or can work independently with minimum guidance.
Scope of work is clearly articulated and project based, may support multiple projects to enhance their discipline’s agile approach.
Utilize prescribed guidelines or policies to analyze and resolves straightforward and complex problems, analyzes possible solutions using technical experience, judgments and precedents.
Understands and helps orchestrate solutions that reduce complexity, risk and cost.
Bachelor’s degree (Computer Science or Information Technology preferred)
