Job Title: Sr. Financial Analyst I

Work Location: SOUTHSIDE


Overall Purpose: This position will perform financial analysis to support business activities, the financial closing and reporting process, as well as business planning and strategic initiatives. The Financial Analyst will provide reporting and analysis of the monthly financial results against budget, forecast and historical information to facilitate decision-making toward the achievement of the budget and key performance indicators. The Financial Analyst will also support federal, state, and local regulatory reporting requirements.

Job Duties:

  • Facilitate quantitative data and financial analysis for the business plan, revenue forecasts, sales funnel, and other financial models.

  • Assist with month-end, quarter-end and year-end accounting close activities including expense and revenue accruals, general ledger review, inventory analysis and adjustment, fixed asset sub-ledger reporting, labor capitalization and project costing.

  • Compare and analyze plans and forecasts against actual results. Track financial status by monitoring variances and identifying trends. Perform ad hoc financial and cost analysis, analyze and interpret data, make comparative analyses, and recommend actions.

  • Perform monthly financial and operational performance reporting for revenues, customer retention, Key Performance Indicators (KPIs), headcount, and other metrics.

  • Prepare quarterly and annual federal, state and local regulatory filings.

  • Administer Sales Incentive (commissions) Plan through database maintenance and monthly reporting.

  • Provide information to management by assembling and summarizing data, preparing reports and making presentations of findings and analyses.

  • Assist in implementation and/or testing of ERP (NetSuite) application or system upgrades as well as process improvements.

  • Ensure integrity of internal financial controls in compliance with, and enforcing, regulatory standards and company policy and procedures.

Education / Experience:

Required: Bachelor degree in Finance, Accounting or related discipline (or equivalent knowledge from on-the-job experience), with four to six years’ experience working with financial modeling, budgeting /forecasting and management reporting.

P referred: CPA, CMA or MBA

Skills/Abilities: Strong financial modeling, forecasting and analytical skills. Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts and draw valid conclusions. Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint is a must. Ability to manage a high-volume workload efficiently and effectively. Excellent communication, interpersonal, organizational and time management skills. Strong sense of teamwork and mentoring highly desired. High energy individual with strong work ethic and ability to multi-task. Must be a self-motivator. Ability to maintain confidentiality. Demonstrates appropriate understanding of generally accepted accounting principles and has ability to apply them. Working knowledge of business systems and processes, and associated internal controls.

Physical Requirements: Normal office environment. Extended periods of time in front of computer terminal. Must be able to work over-time.
