Job Summary

The duties of this position include performing safe and timely propane deliveries, installing new equipment, testing existing equipment, performing inspections, troubleshooting, and making repairs to propane equipment and fixtures at locations within Dominion's operating territory.

Operates a commercial motor vehicle in difficult situations such as heavy traffic, inclement weather and tight delivery schedules and loading locations.

Advocates for safety in all aspects of work, including the proper use of personal protective equipment, using proper lifting techniques, handling hazardous materials appropriately, and maintaining a safe record while driving and during general work.

Required Knowledge, Skills, Abilities & Experience

5+ years of directly related experience in propane delivery, propane equipment installation, troubleshooting, testing, and or inspections of existing propane equipment and related infrastructure.

  • Basic knowledge of propane basic operations, propane bobtails, plant operations, vapor systems.

  • Basic Knowledge of environmental & life safety compliance regulations.

  • Basic Knowledge of federal, state, and local code requirements.

  • Ability to load and deliver propane, maintain, troubleshoot, repair, and install propane systems.

  • Ability to interpret drawings, wiring diagrams, technical specifications, and equipment manuals.

  • Ability to evaluate propane equipment condition and provide repair solutions or improvement recommendations to leadership.

  • Ability to work independently or in a team environment.

  • Ability to maintain multiple facilities across a large geographic territory.

  • Ability to work overtime and respond to afterhours emergencies when necessary.

  • Ability to lift 50 pounds and operate a forklift to load and unload material on trucks, in the yard, or in a warehouse.

  • Basic knowledge of operating equipment such as crane trucks, excavation equipment for installation, repair, and replacement of propane equipment.

  • Participate in specialized training and certification classes as needed or required.

  • Ability to complete truck inspections to ensure safe working order and report any necessary repairs that are needed and verify necessary tools and inventory are available for daily and emergency work.

  • Ability to build strong partnerships with peers, internal customers, and external vendors.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

  • Strong organizational and prioritization skills.

  • Proficient in the use of technology such as personal computers, tablets, smart phones, Microsoft applications, GPS, and work management systems such as SAP.

Education Requirements

Required Degree (equivalency not accepted in lieu of required degree): High School Graduate or GED

Licenses, Certifications, or Quals Description

  • Class B CDL driver's license with Hazmat and Tanker endorsements required.

  • Must possess valid driver's license with good driving record.

  • PERC certifications: Basic 1.0, Bobtail, Electricity, Vapor 4.1,4.2,4.3, Plant Operations at time of hire or within 6 months from start date.
