Responsibilities

Provide effective, efficient and professional HR advice, guidance, support, and coaching to supervisors and managers across the AVANGRID organization.

MAJOR ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES (Scope of work - range of responsibilities):Ensure that the correct action is taken by line managers, utilizing listening and influencing skills effectively to understand the nature of the situation and its appropriate response in each circumstance. Effective use of probing questions to risk assess situations and make judgments on the most appropriate resolution taking into account employment law principles and HR policy/procedures. Apply an understanding of key legal precedents, regulations, policies and practices to protect the interests of the organization and individual. Ensure escalation process is adhered to (identifying which cases require support by Employee and Labor Relations and ensure all relevant information and documentation is provided). Answer all incoming inquiries in line with the agreed service level standards and ensure that for each inquiry, accurate and concise information is captured in the Neocase Contact Management System to allow for an audit trail and production of accurate management information. Coach customers through all activities in HR related self-service systems (SAP HR, HR Portal & any other HR Systems as required). Fully embrace new and existing HR technology and continuous improvement, identifying and suggesting ways to enhance service levels, provide additional value, and work more effectively

Skills and Requirements

Bachelor’s Degree with a minimum of 3 years relevant experience preferred. Associates Degree with a minimum of 5 years relevant experience required. Demonstrable experience of managing discipline and grievance matters with both unionized and non-unionized environments Strong working knowledge of key laws and regulations (state and federal) and how each should be applied in relation to HR policies and procedures. Professional certification (i.e. SPHR, SHRM-SCP, or similar) preferred. Experience working for a multi-state and/or global organization.

Skills/Abilities: Strong influencing skills with an ability to positively influence supervisors and managers actions to ensure a best practice approach is applied to progressive discipline, coaching, grievance matters and policy interpretation. Confidence to probe situations and use information available to make judgments on the most appropriate course of action. Strong time management and organizational skills to ensure issue prioritization, response and follow through. Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to build relationships quickly and to positively influence the customer experience

    Avangrid employees may be assigned a system emergency role and in the event of a system emergency, may be required to work outside of their regular schedule/job duties.
