Work location will be in Orange, CT but temporary remote work option may be considered.


Directs all Billing, Credit & Collections, and Low-Income program operations for UIL companies including following responsibilities:

  • Manages billing processes, systems, and vendors to ensure timely accurate bill issuance/revenue generation ( 8.5M bills for $3.5B annually).

  • Manages billing back-office responsible for resolving outsorts, emmas, implausibles, bill adjustments, meter exchanges, price loads, and OOB invoices to ensure timely accurate bill issuance.

  • Manages collections processes, systems and vendors plus sets collection strategies to minimize accounts receivables ( $72M AR) and uncollectibles ($25M).

  • Manages Credit & Collections back-office responsible for high balance collection, balance transfers, dunning lock review, payment arrangements, and AMP/ELP program maintenance.

  • Ensures compliance with all CT and MA Billing and Collection Regulations.

Skills and Requirements

Education & Experience Required :

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Business, Finance, Economics, or Information Technology, with 7 years relevant experience in credit & collections, finances, and/or billing operations required. In lieu of degree, 15 years of relevant experience in credit & collections, finances, and/or billing operations required

  • Master’s Degree preferred

  • Experience with SAP IS-U/CCS utility business processes in the areas of: Billing and Invoicing; Dunning, Device Management; Front Office (including Electronic Bill Presentment and Bill Print); and/or Customer Information Analytics

  • Knowledge of customer billing, accounting, and collections processes


  • In depth change management skills and the ability to lead effectively in different work environments, geographies, and demographics both within and outside the Company

  • Developed leadership skills, analytical thought processes and the ability to work well with multiple groups including regulatory agencies, external stakeholders, end users, process owners and the IT SAP Support Group

  • Ability to manage employees in a unionized and salaried workforce

  • Ability to balance the administration of budgets, staffing needs, and performance management goals and objectives

  • Excellent analytical, interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills

  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Word, and Power Point applications

  • Strong problems solving, prioritization, and project management skills
