Responsibilities

The Supervisor – Reliability Reporting is responsible for the accurate analysis and reporting of all AVANGRID OpCo reliability statistics including NYSEG, RG&E, CMP and UIL.The position is involved with numerous internal and external data audits. The position applies a set of data policies to ensure all reliability data is accurate and in compliance with internal and external regulatory requirements. The position supervises a staff of data analysts and oversees their work. The position takes a lead role in the performance of more complex assessments and manipulation of reliability data. This position encompasses cross company responsibility, each OPCO having variations in data availability, quality, and approaches, must address errors to gather data for internal and external reporting requirements. Position is responsible for the further development of the company’s data retention and historic reporting capabilities, data mining capabilities, to complete complex analysis and reporting. Position requires the ability to have in-depth interface with external consultants and a variety of internal functional groups. The Operational Performance group works to develop management tools to support electric operations and provides strategic direction for reliability improvements across all the AVANGRID Networks electric operating companies. Our team executes projects analyzing large sets of data and providing solutions for the distribution system, while driving operational performance using KPIs and dashboards. 1. Leads initiatives to gather, manipulate, analyze, and provide reporting of reliability data. Works with large and often incomplete data sets. Develop variations of analytical and reporting. approaches to best communicate reliability information as well as enhance ability to utilize data in the application of reliability strategies.2. Supports reliability improvement analysis including work with defective equipment, outage database data, and circuit performance data. 3. Develop KPI and dashboard solutions to help drive operational performance. Provide technical advice and support to other departments as it pertains to KPIs and dashboards.4. Assist in the development of Big Data and Reliability processes, tools, and projects to support the goals of the Operational Performance organization. 5. Analyzes reliability data and plans programs consistent with best practices to provide guidance to expenditure planning and prioritization. Risks will also be considered in the analysis. May recommend and develop programs and strategies including reliability improvement recommendations.6. Using best practices, applies data management approaches within regulatory, legal, and other specified parameters that optimize the use of data in accordance with the reliability policy. 7. Interacts with subject matter experts to make sure data practices are effective, data is properly gathered and analyzed, applications are structured for optimum effectiveness, and risks are appropriately considered and managed 8. Effectively communicates reliability performance plans and the strategies and policies that guided the creation of the plans to internal stakeholders. May be required to also present and advocate for the plans externally.9. Mentors and trains junior members of the reliability reporting organization.10. Drives creative solutions and communicate/suggest best practices to management and colleagues. 11. Maintains up-to-date documentation and procedures. 12. Participates in global and local projects. 13. Responsible for processing payroll, overtime, as well as the scheduling and coordination of administrative departmental activities, including training, vacations, travel, and other items as needed

Skills and Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree with a minimum of 5 years relevant experience preferred.

  • Associate’s Degree with a minimum of 7 years of relevant experience required.

  • Experience in large database construction, manipulation, and data extraction required.

  • SAP/BW experience required.

  • GIS data set experience desired.

  • Knowledge of energy delivery system design and operation desired.

  • Understanding of maintenance and asset management principles desired.

  • Thorough knowledge of the company’s electric restoration procedures, field operating procedures, PSC rules and regulations desired.

  • Supervisory experience is a plus.

Skills/Abilities:
