This position will work as part of the IT Security Risk and Compliance (SERCO) team to participate in the implementation of security related initiatives, assessments, process improvements, reporting and metrics that support the Avangrid IT Security program.


•Lead various small to medium sized IT Security and Compliance initiatives.

•Participate in global Security, Risk, Compliance strategy sessions, project planning sessions, and status meetings.

•Develop, coordinate, collect, and analyze cyber security metrics for reporting and identify opportunities for improvement.

•Develop and maintain monthly status reports

•Assist in the development and maintenance of Security and Compliance related to requirements, controls, and processes.

•Participate and coordinate various assessments and exercises related to Security and Compliance.

Skills and Requirements

•Team Building - Able to build strong relationships with key stakeholders of IT Security, Risk and Compliance (SERCO) services which includes various Avangrid Business areas, IT teams, and global SERCO team.

•Communication - Strong communication and presentation skills, including to senior IT management.

•Time Management - Able to manage competing priorities and direct day to day activities of team members to achieve objectives.

•Project Management - Execute small to mid-size projects.

•Perform Security Assessments (against Company rules and frameworks such as NIST, CIS20, C2M2, OWASP)

•Aptitude to take on new challenges and activities.

•Capable of interpreting Security and Compliance requirements, analyzing controls, and evaluating effectiveness.

•Able to work independently, and have exercised excellent problem-solving, analytical, judgment, and decision-making skills.

•Solid with MS products, power point, excel, word, teams

•General Knowledge in the disciplines of Cyber Security, Risk, and Compliance.


•At least 8 years of IT experience with responsibilities in project management, compliance, Security, and/or Risk plus Bachelor’s Degree required or equivalent combination of education and experience

•Prior Project Management Experience, PMP a plus

•Knowledge of Security frameworks like NIST CSF, NIST 800-53, CIS20

•Leading / Working with Security and/or Compliance Related projects

•Experience with security or compliance assessments.

•Experience in working with distributed teams; different states, different countries.


•Professional Certifications in Risk, Security, Audit, or Project Management specialties.
