Omaha Public Power District Intern - Computer Engineering - Summer (May-Aug) - ECC in Omaha, Nebraska

Department/Business Unit: Transmission Operations/Utility Operations

Location: Energy Control Center - Omaha NE

Duration: Summer Term (May-Aug) - Must be in place in Omaha, NE

Other: Intern will be part of the Find the Why program also

Work Schedule: Monday - Friday 8:00am - 4:30pm (40 hours/week)

Pay: $25.06 - $30.63

Capture and combine an assortment of data (Customer, Outage, Asset, & Performance) from a variety of sources and if needed create new or experimental frameworks to collect absent data. Work with large data sets and complex information to find usable information. Interpret data, correlate data, find trends & patterns to gain data driven insights and actionable results to determine the direction and make decisions that will optimize reliability, cost, and customer satisfaction.

Build creative visualizations that tell a story and effectively communicate detailed insights & results to both technical and non-technical audiences.

Qualifications

Specific fields of study required: Data Analytics, Science, Engineering, Technology, and Mathematics (STEM)

Ability to perform complex engineering tasks and perform analysis

2.5 GPA or higher is required, 3.0 GPA or higher preferred

Sophomore Status or Higher

Valid Driver's License

US Citizen or Permanent Resident

Current full-time college student pursuing four years or two year degree in Data Analytics, Science, Engineering, Technology, and Mathematics

Must be attending an accredited college/university

Technical Ability (i.e. software):

Working knowledge of R or Python programming language

Familiarity with data management tools, SQL, Tableau, and Power BI.
