Position Summary:

The Business Systems Analyst plays an important role in diving into the details of individual demand, business processes, and context. The Business Systems Analyst aligns targeted business outcomes and available technology capabilities. The Business Systems Analyst facilitates requirements, testing, production issues and rapid feedback conversations. The Business Systems Analyst works with partners to ensure support work is actively being moved through the queue and is being prioritized accordingly. Analyzes complex business problems to be solved with automated systems. Provides technical expertise in identifying, evaluating, and developing systems and procedures that are cost effective and meet user requirements. Configures system settings and options, plans and executes unit integration and acceptance testing, and creates specifications for systems to meet business requirements. Designs details of automated systems. Provides consultation to users in the area of automated systems. Leads cross-functional linked teams to address business or systems issues.

Primary Duties:

  • Accountable for quality deliverables and measured on re-work needed (example – build function could not deliver as defined in solution plan - and needed to be returned) .

  • Analyze and evaluate current or proposed business procedures or problems to define needs.

  • Apply best practices and knowledge of internal/external businesses issues to improve processes or services.

  • Collaborate with department management and recommend specific actions in response to analysis; follow-up on recommended action plans.

  • Consult with Solution Architects on solutions in order to effectively define High Level Design.

  • Delivers appropriate SDLC deliverables (Solution Plans, and Functional Design) to ensure solutions are clearly defined for build teams.

  • Documents how technology will meet the requirements of the requestor.

  • Facilitate meetings and provide solutions for complex projects using business acumen.

  • Facilitate rapid feedback to help accelerate project delivery and major production issues.

  • Lead in identifying appropriate statistical and modeling procedures, metrics, budgetary requirements, and information requirements for Company.

  • Manages incidents and on call rotations using troubleshooting procedures.

  • Perform root cause analysis on various bugs or defects through troubleshooting systems.

  • Produce and maintain data specific to projects/program/process and or department.

  • Provide guidance and work leadership for day to day activities and projects.

  • Serve as a source of expertise on reporting systems and data sources.

  • Solve problems and develop solutions that call for original approach based on thorough and comprehensive knowledge and expertise.

  • Support technical research on system upgrades to determine feasibility, cost, time required and compatibility with current systems.

  • Take action in a self-directed manner to identify issues and make recommendations to department leadership.

  • Ensure the build functions have what they need to deliver.

  • Thoroughly research and identify areas for analysis; produce summary analysis and present to department or executive leadership.

  • Write functional business requirements, implementation plans, documentation, and procedures leveraging attention to detail.


  • Bachelor's Degree in Business, Marketing, Information Technology, Computer Science, Engineering, or other technical discipline And 2 years experience as a Developer, System Administrator, QA Engineer/Tester, Systems Analyst, Business Analyst or technical discipline.

  • High School Diploma/GED And 6 years experience as a Developer, System Administrator, QA Engineer/Tester, Systems Analyst, Business Analyst or technical discipline.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Consult with vendors/partners and Solution Architects regarding design options and technical feasibility of designed solution.

  • Support technical research on system upgrades to determine feasibility, cost, time required and compatibility with current systems.

  • Support multiple, complex, and/or advanced applications systems and business processes.Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Ability to communicate technical guidance and instruction to users on the use of systems and/or applications.

  • Demonstrated ability to identify and solve complex problems; taking a new perspective using existing solutions.

  • Demonstrated ability to perform computer modeling on various systems.

  • Strong organizational and time management skills.

  • Proven knowledge of the organization, processes, and customers.

  • Demonstrated ability to synthesize, analyze, and summarize data using business theories, principles, and concepts.

  • Strong ability to interface with and effectively communicate with all levels of leadership.

  • Proven ability to interface with diverse personalities and receive instruction, guidance and direction from others.

  • Solid understanding of Writing and Managing Requirements documents

  • Demonstrated ability to adapt quickly to changing priorities in an agile work environment.

  • Ability to write technical instructions in the use of programs and/or program modifications.

  • Ability to investigate and analyze information and draw conclusions.

  • Proven ability to plan, implement, test, and troubleshoot system software.

  • Detailed level interactions with vendor partners to ensure delivery is satisfactory.

  • Demonstrated ability to consistently maintain a high level of integrity and discretion to handle confidential information.

  • Proven high-level customer service skills applicable to working with the leadership team and other key stakeholders.

Working Conditions:

  • Office environment using computer equipment including a keyboard, mouse and computer monitor.

  • Sedentary to light work exerting up to 20 pounds of force occasionally, and/or a negligible amount of force frequently to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects.

  • Subject to normal office noise levels.
