This position is primarily responsible for the implementation of the PowerPlan Income Tax suite across our U.S. Regulated Utilities and is a key position in the Customer First program to ensure this implementation meets the needs of the internal tax department for their external and internal tax reporting, regulatory and compliance requirements
Actively participate in the implementation of the PowerPlan Income Tax Suite (tax fixed assets, tax provision, deferred taxes) for all the U.S. Regulated Utilities, together with the PMO, ERP Core Finance team, and the System Integrator
Standardize business processes across the regulated utilities by applying utilities best practices
Participate in the design workshops
Assist with the preparation of detailed design documentation
Assist with data conversions, data mappings and integrations to/from PowerPlan income tax suite
Communicate to the business on the key design decisions
A subject matter expert in the areas of income tax, property tax, tax depreciation, deferred taxes, tangible property regulations and tax provision
Assist with the development of end user test cases
Train end users on the Power Tax software
React to change productively and undertake other tasks as assigned
Education & Experience
Ideal candidate will have experience working in or with tax departments in asset intensive industries
Experience implementing PowerPlan, Income Tax Suite
Minimum of 5 years of progressive experience in U.S. corporate income tax along with a professional accounting designation (CPA preferred)
Exposure to regulated utility income tax matters preferred, Degree in tax, accounting, finance, or business
Self-directed and ability to work independently and communicate with key stakeholders in a timely, comprehensive manner
Excellent communication skills (both written & oral) and interpersonal skills to effectively deal with other team members and different departments
Attention to detail and strong hands-on skills
Able to work with and meet tight deadlines
Proficient in the use of MS office products; SAP or similar; Power Plan and Power Tax exposure preferred; Hyperion smart-view preferred
Ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks
