Department Overview

The men and women of Electric Operations ensure the delivery of safe and reliable electric service to our customers. Electric Operations is responsible for every aspect of PG&E's electric distribution and transmission operations, including planning, engineering, maintenance and construction, asset management, business planning, restoration and emergency response.

Position Summary

Design and generate recurring and ad-hoc reports from SAP and Business Warehouse for Pole Test and Treat’s management team. Conducts research, data analysis, budgeting, forecasting and reporting in support of business decision making, strategy and operations. Participates in business process improvement, quality control and other initiatives. Develops, manages and coordinates performance and quality assessment, business process re-engineering, change management, communication and training.

Job Responsibilities

  • Performs analysis on complex data models requiring customized reports and data.

  • Develops and uses metrics to develop recommendations related to business strategy and operations. Presents findings and recommendations to leaders.

  • Design and generate recurring and ad-hoc reports from SAP and Business Warehouse for Pole Test and Treat’s management team.

  • Utilize advanced Excel and Access skills to perform data analysis on historical data to assist in scheduling pole treatment projects as well as monitor YTD trends.

  • Extract pole data from SAP and apply complex SQL commands to remove incomplete and duplicate data prior to importing it into Esri ArcMap to build projects.

  • Use Esri ArcMap to perform spacial analysis on distribution pole assets and group them into inspection projects taking into consideration HFTD zones.

  • Load inspection projects into SAP.

  • Participate in weekly status meetings with MobileConnect team going over planned outages and upgrades to MobileConnect based PTT applications and related environments.

  • Work closely with the application development team describing current and new functionality, creating test data, and validating it.

  • Document and submit software defects (SAP, MobileConnect, and PQC).

  • Make changes to MobileConnect based PTT application’s UI elements.

  • Review and approve design specifications for enhancements and fixes to PTT’s MobileConnect based application and SAP environment.

  • Use Google Earth Pro to create KMZ file from pole data.

  • Respond in a timely manner to requests for pole inspection data from PTT management and other lines of business such as the Law Department.

Qualifications

Minimum:

  • Bachelors Degree in Business Administration or job-related discipline or equivalent experience

  • Job-related experience, 4 years

  • Advanced Skills in SAP, Business Warehouse, ArcMap, MobileConnect and PQC

  • Skill in making recommendations based on relevant expertise as needed to perform at the job level
