Job Purpose

The Equipment Manager is responsible for ordering and maintaining equipment in the field used by the crew to complete a job. This position supports the Field team and works with personnel in various departments.

Essential Functions

  1. Repair and maintain the fleet of vehicles and equipment.

  2. Keep up with DOT requirements regarding dielectric testing and IFTA stickers, changing equipment out as needed.

  3. Complete tag and title work.

  4. Take calls related to equipment problems in the field and prioritize jobs to dispatch mechanics to the jobsite to fix them.

  5. Collect quotes, gain approvals, and order equipment when needed.

  6. Perform other duties as required and/or assigned.

Minimum Qualifications

  1. A High School Diploma, or equivalent.

  2. 3 years of related experience.

  3. Good verbal and written communication skills.

  4. Clarity of vision at 20 inches or less.

  5. Ability to read prints and spot cables.

  6. Ability to operate equipment.

Preferred Qualifications

  1. 5 or more years of related experience.

  2. Detailed knowledge of fleet maintenance and repair.

Physical Demands and Work Environment

This job operates in a field environment. This role routinely requires extended periods of bending, squatting, climbing, kneeling, pushing, pulling, lifting, lifting in awkward positions, standing, and twisting. Also, working in inclement weather conditions to include extreme heat, extreme cold, rain, ice, snow, and wind.

The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of the job. This position is a physically active position, with lifting required. Must be able to bend and lift and carry up to 100 pounds.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly exposed to outside weather conditions. The employee is frequently exposed to wet and/or humid conditions; moving mechanical parts; high, precarious places; and fumes or airborne particles. The employee is occasionally exposed to toxic or caustic chemicals and risk of electrical shock. The noise level in the work environment is usually very loud.

The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of the job. This position is primarily sedentary, with some filing or lifting required. Must be able to bend and lift and carry up to 20 pounds.
