New York Power Authority Building and Grounds Attendant in Niagara, New York
Under general supervision, keeps a prescribed area in a clean and orderly condition, performing any combination of duties involved in cleaning the premises, washrooms, furniture and other building cleaning. Moves office furniture, equipment and supplies when called upon. Keeps public area sidewalks clear of debris and snow. Disposes of trash and other waste material. Performs outdoor grounds keeping activities including but not limited to lawn mowing, fertilizer spreading, hedge trimming, tree pruning and overall vegetation maintenance.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
Must be familiar with building maintenance work, both internal & external as well as external groundskeeping activities such as debris removal, using pumps to move water, applying pesticides and snow removal activities. Skilled craftworkers preferred.
Education, Experience and Certifications
Must be a high school graduate with preferred background as a Journeyperson craftsperson. Should have at least 1-2 years of experience performing janitorial duties including internal and external building maintenance as well as outdoor groundskeeping.
