Job Summary

This position reports to the VP Deputy GC & Chief Litigation Counsel and supports all functions within the department. Provide high quality legal secretarial and administrative support to senior-level attorneys within the Litigation practice group handling various litigated matters. Provide back up support in the absence of other secretarial and clerical associates in the Law Department.

Please note this position is hybrid, comprised of remote and in office work. PSEG reserves the right to amend the hybrid model at any time.

Job Responsibilities

• Work independently on confidential, time sensitive assignments using judgment and initiative.

• Prepare, proofread and edit legal documents for accuracy and completeness.

• Perform clerical duties that include typing and filing.

• Screen, direct and prioritize incoming correspondence and phone calls to appropriate parties.

• Maintain and coordinate attorney calendars.

• Provides work direction and expertise for less senior support staff on the Litigation team

• Responsible for administrative functions necessary to support the Litigation practice group, including maintaining attorney files, updating case and counsel lists, tracking case deadlines, corresponding with the court, clients and opposing counsel, organizing client conferences and meetings, processing expense reports and ensuring timely file close-outs.

Job Specific Qualifications

Required Qualifications, Competencies, Education or Experience:

• High school diploma or G.E.D.

• At least 5 years performing legal secretarial work at a law firm or equivalent

• Advanced Microsoft Word.

• Willingness to learn new processes, procedures and software applications

• Superior communication skills and demonstrated ability to work well with individuals at all levels of the organization, as well as with senior-level individuals in federal and state government, and, private companies.

• Ability to interact effectively with executive and senior management.

• Excellent organizational skills; work independently on assignments using judgment and initiative.

• The ability to work independently and effectively handle multiple tasks simultaneously under pressure, completing assignments with close attention to detail and in a thorough, accurate and timely manner.

• Strong customer/client focus and teamwork skills.

Desired:

• Prior demonstrated use of SAP, Concur, PowerPoint and Excel
