This position will be filled as an HR Rep II or Sr. depending on the qualifications and experience.

Job Summary/Purpose:

This position exists to ensure accurate administration of pension benefits according to applicable plan guidelines for approximately 14,000 active employees, 4,200 terminated vested participants and 15,000 retirees who may have accrued benefits under one or more of the pension plans sponsored by Entergy.

Job responsibilities of this position include:

  • Oversight of vendor administration activities to ensure adherence toagreedupon administrative requirements, performance measures, and standard operating procedures

  • Calculate and/or review calculations of pension benefit calculations for multiple union and non-union plans

  • Assist with program governance. Execute/support execution of SOX testing and compliance monitoring

  • Review and provide data for 5500 Forms, 10K/10Q, EBC reports, management representation letter, etc.

  • Review and update department procedures, SPDs, SMMs, and other documents and required disclosures

  • Research, processandreview manual data corrections

  • Analyze and communicate resolutions to participant inquiries via phone or written correspondence

  • Identify, research, and resolve participant and/or data issues within established timeframes

  • Perform user acceptance testing for changes to vendor’s calculation tools

  • Research and respond to inquiries from customers, actuaries, and ERISA Counsel

  • Produce accurate reports and review reports received from external sources for accuracy

  • Provide support as needed in problem resolution, transaction processing

  • Provide support on special projects and other escalated tasks, as needed

  • Provide support to labor contract negotiations as needed and coordinating required changes when necessary

  • Provide support to rate case testimony and requests for information as necessary

  • Support planning and strategy for the defined benefit programs

  • Support and oversight of the annual valuation process

  • Perform other administrative tasks (ranging from moderately complex to extremely complex) as necessary to supportaccurateadministration of the defined benefit plans

  • Conduct training for HR Operations employees to ensure their ability to provide customer support

  • Apply project management skills to projects and large work tasks

  • Possess strong Emotional Intelligence skills

Minimum‎ qualifications for this position:

  • Bachelor's degree in Math, Accounting, Business Management, HR or related field or equivalent work experience

  • Ability to confidentially manage sensitive records of the company

  • Experience with HR Systems, PeopleSoft and Oracle preferred

  • Advanced level MS Office skills

  • Detail oriented with strong mathematical and analytical skills

  • Outstanding interpersonal and communication skills (written and verbal)

  • Excellent reading comprehension skills

  • Good multitasking, organizational and time management skills

  • Strong project management skills

Experience Required:

HR II - 4+ years of relevant HR experience with a bachelor’s degree; 8+ years of relevant HR experience without a bachelor’s degree.

Sr HR - 6+ years of relevant HR experience with a bachelor’s degree; 10+ years of relevant HR experience without a bachelor’s degree.

Desired qualifications for this position:

  • Experience in reading and interpreting plan documents

  • Previous experience/familiarity with ERISA, IRS, and DOL regulations

  • MBA, QPA, CEBS or similar designation

  • Experience preferred in the following areas: qualified and nonqualified defined benefit plan administration, plan strategy and design, audit and compliance activities
