JOB SUMMARY/PURPOSE

We are looking for a transformational leader who will elevate Learning and Development to the next level in our organization. The Head of Learning and Development will lead efforts to build and scale a robust Learning and Development platform, which powers Entergy’s ability to unlock our talent potential. This is a strategic leadership role that is critical to the continued success of our focus on employee development at all levels of the organization. This role is the strategic architect responsible for the programs and processes that facilitate executive, leadership and professional development and continuous learning of employees across the organization. This role oversees the planning, designing, building, and implementation of all learning programs and processes to support our employees and their work.

The ideal candidate will cultivate strong, collaborative relationships within HR and its clients, to understand business priorities and needs, identify opportunities for enhancing organizational effectiveness, and provide systemic and straight forward approaches with measurable impact to addressing these business needs.

JOB DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES

  • We are looking for an exceptional Learning and Development executive to lead the design, development and implementation of innovative learning solutions across our organization of almost 14,000 employees throughout Louisiana, Mississippi, Arkansas and Texas.

  • Provide a broad range of learning solutions, including digital/e-learning, virtual and instructor-led environments, to enable the workforce that creates Entergy’s success.

  • Provide insightful development solutions through your strong consulting and analytical skills.

  • Establish a clear brand for the practice and a regular communications cadence, so that employees can easily access the right content at the right time.

  • Leading the assessment and coaching practices needed in executive and leadership development.

  • Ensures Entergy’s values and behavioral practices are the foundation of all L&D initiatives.

  • Develops a curriculum that is:

  • Comprehensive –executive, leadership, management, personal/interpersonal skills and some general technical skills.

  • Multi-Channel – experiential, online/on demand, and limited classroom.

  • Business-focused--ensures that learning initiatives are aligned to close business and performance gaps, improving the effectiveness of the organization and its ability to recruit and retain a quality workforce.

  • Develops and drives relevant metrics that produce useful insights to guide our talent strategies and priorities.

  • Leads, manages, and develops all L&D team members; ensures matrix members are also engaged, informed and partnering effectively.

  • Ensures the Learning Management System supports the needs of Entergy.

  • Partners with senior leaders, the HR leadership team, and HR Business Partners to understand the talent requirements to enable Entergy to continue to grow.

  • Builds rapport and trust with key stakeholders, vendors and project teams to effectively develop, launch and measure learning impact.

  • Serves as liaison or champion between Corporate and the functional/area learning communities to establish common standards, best practices, policies and procedures. MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS Minimum education required of the position

  • A master’s degree with a minimum of 10 years’ experience. Minimum experience required of the position

  • At least 10 years progressive experience in adult learning.

  • At least 5 years of experience as a strategic thought leader/subject matter expert specifically in learning and development.

  • Experience both leading a team and leading in a matrixed environment.

  • Proven track record of developing an enterprise wide learning strategy.

  • Data driven, systems thinker who can generate and execute ideas at strategic and tactical levels.

  • Able to integrate learning strategy and tactics with other talent management practices (e.g., succession planning, career planning).
