The Standard Work Content Editor/Coach supports the Consumers Energy organization by ensuring consistent quality both from dedicated Content Development resources and by others providing this support in other areas of the Company. The Editor/Coach provides oversight and coaching on content development tools, methodology, and standard work along with reviewing/editing to provide feedback that ensures conformance to the standard.
Duties and Responsibilites
Provide editorial oversight (e.g., review, revising, and feedback) to ensure compliance with established Technical documentation standards
Coach resources on content development process for standard work documentation, methodology, tools, methodology
Conduct process audits with coached resources and content dev resources on conformance to Technical documentation standards
Standard Work Content Development: technical content development for procedures, work instructions, forms, presentations, etc.
Thorough Knowledge of Technical documentation standards to ensure accuracy, clarity, and accessibility delivered with a high level of quality.
Editorial oversight and review of content developed for technical documents
Use of established technical document standards to train resources on standard work content development.
Technology:A strong knowledge of MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, SharePoint; experience with Visio preferred
Understand how operating metrics are used to measure performance
Effective verbal and written communication across all levels of the organization
5 years of content development experience or equivalent background.
Bachelor’s Degree in a Technical/Scientific Discipline Engineering Preferred. Less than a bachelor’s degree may be acceptable if accompanied by extensive Company or industry experience in positions that demonstrate required abilities and performance
Knowledge of prevailing professional standards in the field of Technical Communication
Lean Six Sigma Certifications preferred
Professional Writing Certifications preferred
Project management experience and/or certifications
